Sums it up nicely. Do not stare into their eyes either, that's a sign of aggression and will be met with staplers

I had dogs growing up on the farm and loved them.
But no shit, cats are so much easier.

    Story Time with Gritto. :)

From the age of 40 to 50 or so I was a Ruffed Grouse hunting fanatic.
I was a member of the Ruffed Grouse Society.
Still have the gold pin somewhere of a grouse tail feather...
I debated for a long time about getting a dog.

Grouse hunters call them the "King of Gamebirds".
Hard to find, hard to approach.
Oftentimes, they'll hear you coming and simply walk away.
I spotted them from time to time doing just that.
Or they'll walk to the far side of a big tree and flush out of sight...so no opportunity to even take a shot.

But above all, they're fiendishly hard to hit.
Remember that friend of mine who let a grouse get the drop on him while taking a leak?
He never managed to hit one. Ever.
He said that every time one flushed close by he practically crapped his pants.
They flush suddenly with a loud and frantic flurry of wings.
By the time you get your gun up it's likely out of sight in the foliage.

One time I met an elderly gentleman with two Springer Spaniels in a State Game Lands parking lot.
He knew his stuff and for some reason took a liking to me.
He asked me to hunt with him and his dogs for pheasants.
He said he wasn't a very good shot and asked me to back him up.
Man oh man, those Springers were something...it was almost too easy.

I learned a great deal in that one day about all manner of hunting dogs.
He wasn't kidding about not being a good shot.
I got my two and he asked me to continue with him.
I shot two more and we were done...but he said you keep them.

Mrs Gritto was not amused at me bringing home twice my limit.
    Called me a Poacher.
I had some 'splainin' to do.

Anyway, the old gentleman told me a lot about how to train a hunting dog.
The more I heard, the more doubtful I got about having the time to do a proper job of it.

He reeled off the pros and cons of many breeds and what each was best suited for.
He also talked about which ones make the best pets.
Apparently, English Pointers are mean bastards and not suitable as companions. Unbeatable for pheasants when trained well, though.
Springers are very good as both pets and hunting dogs.
    Weimaraners, Vizlas, Setters... the same.
He thought Labs made the best pets and merely "okay" for hunting.

I told him I was considering a Brittany Spaniel...for grouse, primarily.
He replied that I couldn't find a better dog for grouse....providing it was VERY well trained.
Training a dog to effectively cooperate with you in hunting grouse is very difficult.
An untrained or badly trained dog you're better off leaving at home.
And that goes double for a high energy dog like a Brit.

    Meh.
Sadly, I concluded I simply didn't have the time.

    Found the gold pin:

just a couple of things tbh
Random post but was talking about this last night so thought I would post some pics.
What we have below are my civic si coupe and my buddies 2017 mkz with 400hp pretty fun, Toyota Tercel’s he has the 81 yellow 2 door, 82 brown 4 door, and 86 4 door 4wd wagon the yellow has a 7age swap the brown 4 door is getting a 4a turbo build and the wagon is getting a rebuild of the 3a then he plans to lift it.

But we went out to the junkyard to find civic coil overs to take the springs and cut them so he can put them in the rear of the yellow car so it will sit lower (since nobody makes anything for these cars)

but I also found this blue 60s mustang not much left of it tbh and someone took the vin plate off it

Some may be, but mine wasn't. Scooter was a bobwhite hunting machine. Natural instincts to point and retrieve. The only thing I had to train him was obedience. RIP Scooter, you were that one dog a man is lucky enough to have in a lifetime.

I don’t have time to explain it right now, but it’s a bad idea to swim with sharks in a suit made out of meat.

Please clarify; are the sharks wearing the meat suit or are you wearing the meat suit?
