I had a similar experience trying to flash my 2018 DC OR 04A61. I had all the proper exceptions in Defender and had flashed numerous times before. But the truck would not flash 2.0 directly from Flash Manager. What finally worked was launching vF Tuner and launching Flash Manager from there instead. It's the last icon, furthest to the right in vF Tuner:

Hope this works for you too. Or perhaps I confused things more because I misunderstood the issue. YMMV.

If you have one of the older versions of flash manager there is an older version toyflash that won't flash the newer files. If you update flash manager and install the software, it should work fine

If you are flashing vF files, you have to use the toyflash that is bundle with vf.

Ah yes - I hadn't noticed that until you drew my attention to it. Flash Manager (v1.3.5) launches v1.2.2 of ToyFlash whereas vF Tuner launches v1.3.2. So that solves why using vF to flash instead of the Flash Manager route worked. Anyway, could be the issue @Javidavi is also experiencing.

Just gonna go out on a limb here, but I'm sure the 2 ovtune employees are busy creating files etc for the AT release. I would rather not see them on here so they can focus on that.

It's kind of what these forums are for, members helping other members. I'm sure members like @Shellshock , @tonered , and all the other ones do it to be helpful, not to get paid.

What is generally considered the best tune for performance here? Including the current 2.0 releases and the betas

Depends on what ECU. Different experience with same tune but different ECU

If your truck is and auto the "bets performance" is still in the delivery queue for the next few weeks. For my stock tires/gearing the latest 2.0 Beta for my ECU (04B04) with 91+ octane has been the best for me all around with performance when I use it and mpg when I try to get some.

Is the Premium tune worth the $$ in fuel? It's $.70 / gallon more for me to run premium.
Are we talking 5 hp gain, or 30 hp gain? I'd have to get 27.5 mpg to offset the fuel price. So I'd need the smiles / gallon to be there.

Otherwise I'll just wait for the performance tunes.

Not even close to worth it when it comes to fuel economy for 91 or better octane. Does give added horsepower and torque and is noticeable but at same time not going to turn your v6 into v8 power. Shifting is much much better and that alone is the very specific reason I purchased tune but I also run 93 octane despite not having better fuel economy.

    The overall
The overall drivability of the truck is now amazing with the tune. I get that it's not a S/C or Turbo, but everyone says the premium tune is just amazing... I think the Regular tune is worth the $800. I just was curious as to those running the premium tune, is the amount of smiles per gallon outweighing the extra dollars per gallon. That's all.

Yes there’s a definite noticeable difference in the premium tune. Question for anyone is that is it worth it depending on how often you’ll wanna use the added power. Personally I rarely ever stomp on the gas but when I need it it’s now there and less bog before the downshift. Seems more instant throttle rather than as stock where it had to wind up sorta before it would downshift and accelerate.

Perhaps I'll run the regular another week, then give the Premium a go. I just don't want to waste the time and money if there's no real difference. I've certainly spent more on less though I guess. Thanks fellas.

^ this is my stance also ^ I also but a gently used truck instead of a decked out rig so we spend what we want where we want. I cannot wait for the perf tune though....Day 1er here!

I just flashed 2.0 91 stock 35 tune because I was bored waiting for the next release. Was running the same version for 33” tires for the last 4-5000 miles. Curious to try same tune for bigger tire since I put 255/80/R17’s (33.1”) on halfway through the mileage above.

Tune felt similar on my test drive, but I’ll give it a few thousand miles to see if I can tell how the tune varies between the 33 and 35 tire option.

Ill be watching for your next comment. im on cooper 255 85 16s. Running 33 THX premium. No complaints though. Smoother then how stock tuning tires felt back on the beta.
