I am thinking about doing a dual battery set up for my truck. I am on a budget, and looking itto staying with interstate batteries (I have a new 27f as a starter battery)

i would like to mount this behind the rear seats of my double cab. i do not have a fridge or anything that requires 24/7 electricity

any reason NOT to use this battery?

A lead acid battery off gasses hydrogen gas. While it is minimal and will probably not do any harm, it's something to keep in mind.

I have a Duracell deep cycle 27F as my second battery. It is lead acid, and is in a cubby under my sleeping platform with a vent to the outside.

If your TRD OR has the electric pump brake booster, I'm pretty sure there's room for a 2nd battery on the passenger side. If you have the vacuum booster, there's a bunch on ABS stuff in the way on the passenger side. I seem to recall seeing where someone on TW relocated the PS reservoir and fit a battery there. 2008 is right near the border of when the TRD OR switched to the electric motor booster.

2.5 inch lift, 285/75r16s, upgraded stereo system, Magnuson mp90 supercharger system.
Are you going to post things as you go? Asking because I’m also doing this at some point in the not to distant future. I will be using it to drive my stereo system.

OOOOOHHHH, since you have the cowl air mod, you have lots of room. Put the battery there.

I debated going dual battery. Decided to just upgrade my starter to an X2 Power (northstar) and stick with a single setup.

If you’re not running a fridge, the dual setup is probably not necessary. It’s also gonna add more weight to your front end. Just some things to think about.

I’m installing this Whelen cencom set up in my truck soon and thought it would be a good time to do dual batteries, it would power my cen com, vhf radios, and accessory lighting. Main battery for winch and air compressor
