I've noticed that no matter how much coffee or whatever other source of caffeine I consume, that my body just starts getting tired around 3pm and then it's just downhill from there. Ugh. 2 hrs to go and time is crawling

Any carport experts in here? I'm thinking of installing one. Pros, cons?
Is enclosing 3 sides a good idea or a bad one? It gets breezy here.

Growing up back East we had a ton of Grouse. From the time I was 14 until my mid 20's I chased them non-stop. Never had dogs always just walked around old log roads and edges of fields to flush em out. Also had some apple trees that grew wild in a few spots and I would slip into them and find the grouse feeding on the apples.

In the very early season September and October when it was warm grouse were every bit as frustrating as you describe. Flushing at impossible angles behind trees, or they wait until you almost step on them before they flush, it would scare the shit outta me and I would make a terrible shot at them as they flew off into the brush.

November and December was a completely different story. It would start to get nice and cold and sometimes snow. Now the birds would all come out on the roads and the edge of the fields to sun themselves early in the morning. They would sit in the sun and wouldn't move for anything half the time. You could walk up to less than 10 yards before they would flush. I used to joke around with Dad that you could almost run up and kick them. One day he handed me his gun and snuck up behind a grouse that was sunning itself, he then took two quick steps and launched himself at that bird and damned if he didn't catch it. he gave the head a quick flick and into the vest it went. I watched the whole thing and could barely believe it!
