If the hallway also has the same slope it's most likely just shitty framing. You very seldom have a joist that sags on both ends. Believe it or not there's a lot of framers who aren't very good with square, level, plumb and straight. Crazy but true.

If it really bothers you that much it can be fixed properly. That would require pulling the tub and toilet, ripping out the old sub floor and furring those joists up. Since the hallway follows the same plane it would leave you with custom transition strip at the doorway.

The other option is to tile it. You can use the thin set to fix the tub reveal by using a larger notch trowel on the left side. Then you can feather it out and plane it in using a straight edge. Since you want to use vinyl lick and stick I would strongly suggest you don't use self-leveling concrete. It will crack and degrade with traffic because the vinyl does not provide enough support. You might be able to add a hardener and some anti-crack fiberglass to the mix to make it last longer but I wouldn't.

Or you could just live with it and try to sleep at night. I have severe OCD when it comes to square, level, plumb, and straight. I would fix it correctly but I also do this shit for a living. lol

Haha thanks for the tips and info. I apprecate the insight. Not knowing any professionals make it a bit harder to get opinions. Ill make something temporary work with the intent that it will be redone down the road. (Probably real tile like you suggest).

The hallway is getting carpeted so hopefully it makes the transition less noticeable overall.

I’ve been putting off reworking my staircase ever since we moved in a year ago- I built high-end, custom circular and elliptical staircases for years and knew I’d have fun doing it but also immediately recognized this thing wasn't anywhere near the workmanship I'm use to.
    E9F69A9A-39E5-4225-8ED6-B03ADBA35856.jpg
I pulled the wobbly rail and balusters and it's sat like that for 6 months as the rest of the renovation projects have went on around it.
    (we don't use upstairs)

I finally got tired of looking at it and decided to pull a tread and see what skeletons were under there a few days ago. No glue/adhesive and no center support- these treads were bouncing up and down until the glue between the boards broke (some treads were riddled with dozens of nail holes in an attempt to get them to stop moving- there was nothing under the tread to attach it lol)
    C237C0A5-80AA-4469-9AFE-718FAEFF308B.jpg
They notched the back of the tread into the stringer and sat the riser on top of the tread.
    :annoyed:

So I tore into it yesterday...
    A6219807-BCBF-4352-BA77-A57BD2CB5967.jpg

A staircase's stringers should flow into the baseboard, top and bottom. You can see the bottom step notched around the stringer and died into the wall- the top tread did the same.
    :frusty:
So I took care of that

    584F723D-435D-4A4A-BA3C-6D6DEF065411.jpg

And that's where I'm at now, everything sanded and ready for new.
In the morning I'm going to install the rest of the baseboard and prime them along with the old stringer. I've already collected new material and painted the balusters, I've decided to butt the rail into a box newel and ditch the volute. I'll be cutting a new stringer for the open side and hopefully assembling risers and treads tomorrow before dinner.

    ^^^ What he said

My upstairs the floors are like a fun house, it's 140 years old and there's been various extra supports tied in over the years. The bathroom has the lick-n-stick tile and it works well with the uneven floors. It doesn't bug me too much, mostly because it's stabilized and I just don't have the money to fix it properly even doing the work myself.

Infact I'm pretty sure the ONLY floor in my house that's completely flat and level is the kitchen.

I have one of those. Not sure what to do about it yet so I haven’t done anything. It’s not sagging and the house is 13 years old but I feel like I should do something.

I knew about that one when I bought it, the one that pissed me off was the collapsed joist end I found a year later. Not sure if the last guy had a gun safe on it or if the idiot that ran the wire through it missed the knockout. Ended up ripping some OSB and through bolting it in place to brace it. Seems to be holding up just fine.

 The best part about that is someone did that without seeing a problem with it.

I fixed a stupid one a few months ago. I've lived here for 4 years and every once in a while I caught a whiff of sewer gas outside. There has been construction down the street since I moved in so I always attributed it to that. Finally I put two and two together that my radon exhaust was tied in with my vent pipe. It was me pumping the sewer gas out with that radon fan. I isolated the vent pipe and ran the radon fan out separately and haven't smelled it outside since. The crazy thing to me is first of all, someone installed it like that and I'm sure they thought they were being slick as shit. Second of all 2 different owners lived in this house for about 9 years before me and never connected the dots, (granted it took me 4 years) or they did and decided not to do anything about it.

I knew this was an issue before buying my house, but: the toilet in the upstairs bathroom had a pretty mean lean to it, like you sat on the toilet and it felt like a recliner hahah. They had roll on vinyl as flooring, I could feel the flooring beneath was a bit squishy (The lean made any water on the floor pool around the toilet.

I wish I had a picture of the floor joists below. They completely cut through the joist running below the toilet, and to support it, they cross blocked it to the adjacent joist that they completely cut through again to have the drain for the tub! Ridiculous what some people think

I didn’t get to assemble today but made good progress. I added center supports, installed the rest of the baseboard, primed the wall stringer and baseboards, guesstimated the dimensions for the open stringer best I could from the framing and cut it. They had completely removed the foot on one side, all the weight on that side was on the wrap; I scabbed on a new foot. I’ve ripped the risers and cut them to length, should be able to assemble tomorrow. Sure is nice being able to cut a stringer with a chop saw, don't get to do that with the curvy stuff haha

Hauled 760 pounds of scrap to the recycler. A whopping $8. Just about paid for the diesel.
