Greetings fellow taco lovers, I am in a bit of a pickle and would appreciate some input based on experience not word of mouth. I love trail riding, mountain biking, and currently own a 21’’ late 90’s Trek 6500zx. I will be ordering a Trek Roscoe 8 this weekend and am stuck on the frame size. I’m 6’1, 73’’ with a 34.5’’ inseam and 74.5’’ arm span. Long arms but not ape like, lol. Trek website has me at a L frame, 19.5’’ but I also fit into their XL, 21.5’’ category dimensions. I’m literally dead center between Trek’s size/frame categorization. Ideally I would test ride both, but given COVID nothing is available until February and even that is just for people who order.... I know bike geometry has changed in the last two decades and could really use some advise, insights, before I drop $1750.00 on this bike. Thanks to all, cheers mates!

The smaller of the 2 would be easier for you to throw around and handle of the trails. Im no expert tho. Id just always go with the smaller of the 2 for ridability reasons.

I’ve been to three, Trek included, they’ve all said the exact same thing, “we need a bike for you to sit on to size you” and they don’t have any.

    From my brief research.

If the sizing isn't too small to be uncomfortable just think of these two factors. Do you want slightly more flickable, or slightly more predictable.

It’s such a hard decision to make from a distance, lol. I want both, I know I’ll have to compromise. At the end of the day, I want the bike which is going to be most comfortable for me to ride a solid day’s worth of trail and cross country riding.

You could try ordering a bike online for faster delivery times. IF YOURE NOT STUCK ON ROSCOE 8

Also, I'd assume if it doesn't fit you and you don't walk the bike store may let you change sizes if it doesn't fit you. Given I'd assume this decision has to be made at pickup or parking lot ride. I'd go for a Large.

Good ride this morning at cahaba river. This placr is a blast, even found some little drops and nice doubles. Anyone on the fence about checking it out needs to go

There was no prior cardio before this, believe me I'm feeling it. I can't think of a time I've ran or jogged this year.

My ol' cheek meat is tender:rofl:

Just picked up a 2015 Trek Fuel EX 9.9. Dropped it off at Trailhead for a service before I start riding. I also just moved to Huntsville a few months ago.

anyone plan on doing any rides in September?

also, has anyone seen any MTB prime day deals?
