Fitting a 35"

Well, it's time for new tires and I'm looking at Fierce Attitude M/Ts. I'm currently running Nitto Terra Grapplers in a 295/75/17 and I'm clearing those easily. The question is, will I be able to clear a 35" Fierce Attitude M/T with minimal trimming?

My current set-up is: 2008 Tacoma DC/SB TRD OR with a Procomp 6" suspension.

not yet, i will pretty soon. just the plastic around the cab mount for now

 

What exactly did you trim? (pics?) and did you have a body mount chop done?

 

i'll get a pic later, i really didnt trim much the tires did most of the trimming 4wheeling, they dont rub driving around town but 4wheeling after removing the sway bar they rub

 

Oh, okay. Then I should be good. I'm going Monday to order them.

 

my passenger side has barely made contact but the driver side has more, also my coilovers are cranked about an inch too so thats why i dont rub as bad

 

Yeah, my truck just sits at 6". Nothing more than that. My Mom is getting them as a birthday present and will probably want to talk to the guys at the shop about sizing and all, as if she knows something. lol

Why do people still insist on stuffing the biggest tire possible into their fenders. Here is a hint, if you have to cut or chop, then the tire is too damn big. What fits inside the fender in the driveway is a whole different story under full flex on a trail.

 

No rub from the 285s and the RCD?

 

Eh, there are benefits both ways. The extra clearance may be worth it to them...but I have to say, it's been impressive to watch Hodge's 35s literally eat his truck.

Personally, I think 33 is the right size for these trucks if you're wheelin'. Larger contact patch than 32s, a little extra clearance, but not so large as to put undue stress on the drivetrain or make your braking unsafe.

But I agree...important to flex it out and see where the contact is, and trim appropriately.

 

And the goddam BOLTS in the fender well that were shearing off
