    The bashing threads..... Awesome.

I must be in the top percentage of jeep owners that have had only a single issue in my 6+ years of ownership. 1 warranty problem.

Jeeps are way overpriced! If you want something better wait a year and get a bronco. But you can't beat the looks of a taco on 35s!

Because Chrysler ruined that brand, AMC was a quality Jeep.

I’m positive if you throw enough money at any project it will do it . That’s a purpose built machine , not a stock Jeep . My buddy has a purpose built trail Jeep and always says “try to follow me” , I say I can if I throw money at my Tacoma like he’s thrown into his Jeep . Then I tell him to follow me to California (in his trail rig)

Stock for stock there is no comparison , Toyota makes a superior product hands down

If you say so. :D Every vehicle out there today has some kinda issues with them. IMO.. it's all in how much you are willing to deal with (said issues).

That said.. it's a toss up between My 19 OR, and my 84 SR5 from 30 years ago, to which one I think is better.

Jeeps now a days = junk, my daughter didn’t have the Wrangler but a new 2018 Compass Trailhawk loaded. Only a year old and the engine blew, they blamed it on oil consumption, All their 4 cylinders have this issue but don’t hold your breath for a recall, Chrysler says it’s a common issue and they will replace the blocks as needed.Got rid of that POS once the engine was replaced.

I'm currently searching for a tj or a xj. Maybe 4runner instead of the xj, not sure yet.

Will keep the Tacoma until I have kids though then I'll probably get a tundra or other full-sized truck.

My family has both jeeps and Tacoma's. No major issues on either so I'm not worried or biased about reliability especially the older models.

A jeep is a great vehicle....for off road. But I wouldn't want to live with one as my daily driver. A friend of mine had a new one a few years ago. Nice vehicle, for I knew I wouldn't like it every single day of my life. He traded it shortly afterwards for a Ram.
A Tacoma may give up a few things in the 'Off Road' column. But, it'll get you damn near everywhere you'd ever want to go.

This is just my 2 cents.

That Jeep was my Daily driver for many years , I put 60 miles per day on it

    Also my 47 CJ2A and my 81 CJ5 was a daily driver

Yep and the other truck they use is a taco, with a block and tackle any vehicle can pull out 1 ton trucks......

I loved my Jeeps when I had them as rental vehicles in Hawaii. However, I wouldn't want one as a daily driver where I currently live. It's a great, just basic vehicle and that's what I loved. From my understanding the reliability issues come from when people start modifying things or overworking them, etc. They are Jeeps after all.

But, that all being said, I use the bed of the pickup too much and the Jeep doesn't do well in that aspect. They're noisy at high speeds and hands down the worst halogen headlights I've ever used. But I'd totally own one if I lived in Hawaii or as a secondary vehicle.

I just plugged an OBD scan tool into my Tacoma for the first time ever, to see what would happen.
    Zero diagnostic trouble codes.
    Unbelievable.

Neighbours 2013 wrangler has been a nightmare since new. The engine was replaced at 300 miles because it managed to burn a quart of oil within 100 miles. Then 20k the cylinder head had to replaced because of a constant misfire, transmission replaced at 50k and now again, it has that misfire again. They’re pretty much done with it.

My uncles 06 4.0 manual? No issues in 200k miles. Hell the original drive belt lasted 170k. That being said. It’s got horrible rust and he’s patched the frame twice now. He’s actually got a new frame for it sitting in the yard getting built up because his original is pretty much done.

I owned a '99 Grand Cherokee before my '17 Taco. Never had any problems, but after having a Tacoma for 2 years now I'm all for talking shit about Jeeps. I'll never own another Jeep. The Tacoma is just a superior vehicle all around.
