Claire and Sir Frank can stop hemorrhaging capital. Dorilton can attempt (or pretend to attempt) to make Williams significantly more profitable than investing in a portfolio of equally risky securities. Ill give them two years but five years max to do thst. They sell Williams outright if its very profitable and if not, and it probsbly won't be, they beak up Williams and transfer useful assets to other holdings in their industrial and specialty manufacturing portfolio and sell the rest piece by piece and machine by machine.

They just signed the Concorde so does that not mean they can not back out for 5 years?

It was my understanding the deal was only for the team, not for the entire Williams Engineering company.

They can. All they have to do is give their notice by March 31.

I really hope that they are able to make Williams more profitable & successful. England sadly has lost most of it's car building to time or have been absorbed into bigger companies. It would be a shame to loose Williams. I guess if Dorilton are going to be committed then they need to see what the 2022 season produces.

I'm surprised that they sold lock & stock. The engineering side of the firm is really pretty technical and there is a lot of good revenue that comes from it.

Fingers crossed this will end up being a good thing for Williams :fingerscrossed:
EDIT: I hope this ends up being a good thing for the employees and the Williams name... sadly it is just a name now.

Uhmm, not Formula 1 car building.

The Dorilton deal must have been in progress when Williams signed the Concorde Agreement. It has to be part of their strategy. My thought is that they're hoping to buy low and sell it on in a couple of years when this 'rona stuff is behind us and the new cars and rules are established. It does not sound like a bad bet.

For sure England is F1 central. But even most of the F1 teams are owned by companies outside of England.

England has lost ownership of most of its production companies or they don’t exist any more, like... Austin, Mini, Aston Martin, Rover, Rolls-Royce, Lotus, Morris, Jaguar, Triumph, Bentley...etc

All that’s pretty much left are boutique companies like Caterham. Scrap that, apparently owned by a Malaysian now.

Basically made in England but owned by god knows who... kinda sad really. The positive I guess is that the companies, jobs and cars still exist...

Yeah, I did a work experience at my local Jag dealership, that was when they were owned by Ford “spit”.

Highlight of that experience being a 14 year old was they had a XJ220 in the showroom and I got taken out for a spin in a limited Lister XJS, this is where English b-roads and round-abouts make for fun driving. 600hp in a 1990’s Jag is insane, the bonnet seemed to go on for evvveeer.

I was just looking through the list of entrants and it seems a bit thin this year, not surprisingly what with everything going on.

It would have been interesting to see how the Corvette C8.R would do. The last LeMans I went to the Corvette was the last of the loud cars out there.

I’ve never been a fan of corvettes styling especially anything newer than the 70’s but this new corvette is beautiful & mean as F. I’d pick it over an Aston or Ferrari.

I do find it strange that they changed the core of the car and didn’t make it a new model whilst keeping the original FR corvette.

If you're watching MotoGP, IMHO, you're watching the best racing available this year. The finish to today's race was absolutely amazing. Every race is anyone's to win.

Sooooo glad they are finally picking up the coverage on a non-extra-cost provider. This year has seen some amazing racing and "happenings".
