That is what I got and for that price a year ago. I am happy with my decision and would do it all over again. Wolverine Toyota is the way to go.

I bought my extended warranty from Troy Dietrich (tdietrich@fd-warranty.com) Greenfield Toyota. Fidelity Platinum w/ $0 deductible: 7 year 0 deductible 100K miles for $1299.00. This was for 2020 Tacoma Limited 4WD.

make sure it's a OEM Warranty and not a platimum wrap service contract, 3rd parties typically have mucho exclusions.

I got my extended warranty for free due to having so many little issues on my 10/15 build. There is a lot of stuff the warranty doesn't cover.

I also hit up Troy, got a 6yr/100k platinum for $895 for my 2018 4x4. Purchased about 100 miles before the factory 36K warranty expired

Edit: I also had tried Jennifer at Wolverine but never heard back from her. Troy was very responsive and easy to deal with.

I have Geico MBI ( mechanical breakdown insurance ) and it cost $50.00 a year for seven years or $350.00 . It is a 7 year 100K mile insurance that covers about everything a factory warranty covers and has a $250.00 deductible for every repair . For $350.00 it will cover me for 4 years or 64K miles whichever comes first after my 3 year 36K mile factory warranty expires .

Thanks guy, I was able to get some very good quotes on the Toyota Platinum product from Jerry Johnson @ 800-530-5789. Jerry is a really friendly guy who would be happy to take a call from anyone interested in the extended warranty for Toyota, Lexas or Sicon. The 7yr/75,000 is $915 and the 10yr/100,000 is $1560 with other options including fewer years and higher miles.

When I posted this I knew the folks who are against this type of product would comment and I get that so here's a few of my extended warranty saves.
2001 Honda Odyssey new transmission at 74,000
2004 Saturn Vue AWD (Honda Pilot Engine) 39,000 new transmission and driveshaft
2014 F150 Ecoboost Supercrew 61,000 (just 1,000 past the mfg 6/60 powertrain) tranny cooler fitting failed and dumped fluid overboard the warning from the
computer came too late as the damage was done. So that's over 9k right there and that's just the big stuff. Also this is not a result of poor driving/ownership as I keep my cars and trucks very clean and maintained. These things happen and personally I don't think the quality is were it should be especially with the corrosion. However needless to say I'm way ahead of the dollar cost averaging game with this product, way ahead.

This is my very first Toyota truck and it came off the lot needing a new rear differential, had lines all through the clear coat from the protective shipping film and has a misaligned rear bumper and leans a little to the left. All that's fixable and it will be taken care of but it does not exactly scream quality, fit or finish. Additionally I got a great deal on my Tacoma and on my trade so dropping $915 for a 7/75 to me is a fantastic little insurance policy that's completely affordable and it's transferable only adding to the trucks value when selling as a used car.

I have owned other vehicles that I have not purchased the extended warranty for (F150's, Honda CRV) that have worked out ok. It's not something that I always do but with all the solid state sensors and electronics I'm in.

They wanted to sell me all kinds of things,
    Key and wheel protection packages
    Prepaid maintenance
    And extended warranty.
I said a big no to the first few.
They still were pushing the platinum extended warranty. They claimed the best value was 84 months/100k Zero deductable for $1995. I said it was too much. The finance guy was still trying to push it that ac an electronics are costly to fix. I said maybe so but it was a no still at almost $2k. Id buy it for $1500.

Working with him now on a OEM Platinum Warranty for my 2020 and he has really good prices - 1/2 of what they wanted to charge me at the dealership for a 3rd party warranty that would have made me pay deductibles and such at anywhere other than the dealership I bought it at. With the OEM Warranty you can get the work done at any Toyota dealership you happened to be near. Makes much more sense and much better price too!

I paid $100 for a 7/100,000 $50 deductible. Their sales boss was crazy that day didn’t want any new car to leave the lot without an extended warranty. I told them no about 20 times. Big boss man comes down himself I told him the warranty is a joke we go back and forth a few minutes I end up with my deal. Got lucky that day.

I’ve worked in the business. Your extended warranty is a paycheck. It’s never expected to be fulfilled and making a claim will be a pain in the ass. The only good will be oil changes and tire rotation. Which is probably all you would need. Good thing you bought a Toyota

You're just extremely un-lucky, as extended warranties will not pay-off for the vast majority of purchasers. If that weren't the cast there would not be so many extended warranty companies out there and they wouldn't be doing so well.

I own two Tacomas and both have been trouble-free and neither have ever been back to the dealer. One is 24 years old with 414,000 miles on it.

I agree with you that these Tacoma’s are generally trouble free. I have owned 4 Toyota trucks and my first one was a used 1979, a new 1984, a new 2008 and a new 2020. The early Toyota Truck models were not called Tacoma’s and they were mechanically indestructible. These trucks did not have the new technology the current trucks have and I never needed an extended warranty. I don’t even remember extended warranties being sold for my 1979 or 1984 models.

These new trucks with all the bells and whistles have numerous electronics modules which are costly to repair. Most of these types of repairs are covered an extended warranty. I spent over 40K for my 2020 Tacoma Limited so getting an extended warranty for $1299 for (4) extra years of coverage was an easy decision. When you do the math, the warranty costs me 89 cents a day for (4) years.

Some folks consider this a waste of money, but it could be a bargain with just one costly repair which is covered by the warranty.

I think we also should clarify when that 7 year Platinum warranty begins. Most extended warranties run concurrently with the factory warranty. So that 7 year warranty is actually only a 4 year warranty since they factory one covers the first 3 years. If something happens during the first 3 years, the factory warranty covers it.
This is how most extended warranties work, from appliances to cars. Please correct me if I’m wrong with the Toyota Platinum warranty. Always check the fine print to verify when the warranty period begins. You may be thinking you’re getting your money’s worth with a 7 year warranty, but really getting a 4 year warranty. Which isn’t so good of a deal.

I got a good deal on my factory extended warranty but only out of concern of all the electronics (pre-collision, etc...). If the extended warranty runs concurrent with the factory warranty and I want to cancel is it pro-rated? I would hope not since it doesn't even go in to effect for more than 2 years?

Correct. Same with mileage. So if factory ends at 60k you are buying 40k more miles (if the 100k choice)

Dividing by time/miles it starts to get kind of pricey.

Make sure you buy a genuine Toyota warranty, not a 3rd party. Too many hoops to jump through with claims on most 3rd party choices.

Make sure it's transferable to a new owner should you decide to sell.

Get your quote from one of the other dealers mentioned in this thread and ask your local to beat it. At least you may get a match.

    My personal experience?

Out of 50ish vehicles, only 3 have been new. One (a late 80's Ford) I bought an extended warranty for pretty much on a whim. It was about $600. Late in the life of the warranty it paid for the AC rebuild that was needed. So it worked out ok. But along the way there were many things it did not cover (3rd party), so I was frustrated with myself............. One other I bought new was sold after about a month. Long story. Car ok, finances not so much. The 3rd bought new was an '04 Highlander. 130k miles when sold last year, no warranty work, just normal wear items and a couple of recalls. I did have a taillight bulb fail once though.......... :D

I bought the Tacoma with 8k on it, the '14 RAV with 45k. Both had some warranty left, neither eligible for Toyotas 'only when new' options. So I passed on all of it, even though the Finance guys tried all the scare tactics in their bag.

Don’t buy extended warranty from dealer . I use geico it cost me 7 dollars a month . For extended warranty ya the deductible is 250 but only need it for major repairs . So anything under 250 I just pay out of pocket . Still cheaper than the dealer warranty crap . Or you can purchase a extended warranty directly from your lender . Way cheaper .

My wife used to work for a dealership. They sometimes would sell the car for almost no profit and make it up with warranties and financing.
