Thanks. It took some work to get it to this point but I'm still at about $2k ahead, by buying a used cap and refinishing it myself.

Yea, A.R.E. doesn't offer an option for a electronic lock option for the MX series. If I did it myself as a mod I would have to figure out a way to incorporate the actuators, one on each side of the door somehow to provide the same strength that the steel rod system does. Not impossible, not pretty but also not worth the time and money.

Do you have a driveway? It's a simple application procedure. The only downside to these types of coatings is the smell. I hear they are a little foul. Otherwise, you can use some brown craft paper to lay down in your garage for the over spray or drips and basically it's just like spray painting anything else. Just spray all the exposed metal parts except the brake rotors and drums. The kit I posted even comes with a 360 degree flexible spray wand to get inside the frame in any area that has openings.

This should literally take you about 2 hours including washing the undercarriage with a decent spray on degreaser, and maybe hitting any bad scale areas with a wire brush.

Keep in mind, this is a yearly thing if you want to really ensure the protection is constant. None of the coatings are permanent one time deals as far as I know. Oh, the Fluid Film can also be sprayed inside the bottom of the doors. There are rubber grommets you remove, make sure you windows are rolled up, and they using the flexible wand, spray in there, reinstall the grommets.

Lots of things I don’t mind doing myself. Messing with fluid film/corrosion inhibitor is not really one of them. I look forward to things like changing brakes, suspension removing and replacing but some reason, this is not one of those things lol.
I’ll probably get the kit you posted and do it myself, just had to see how much more it would be to have someone else do it.
Speaking of that, I need to change my wife’s brake fluid, have not been changed since we got the car in 2015...
