Hey y'all, I haven't been keeping up with OVtune and VFtuner. I last flashed 2.0 for my 6mt back when it was released in March.

Recently I tried download 2.0 OLbase and I kept getting an error when I tried to download it.

Is the support for the original OVtune software discontinued?

I have hit the update button and it tells me that the update was a success. But when I try to download the tune I get and error:

"Error downloading file C:/Users/PC/Toyota Flash Manager/tunes/2.0/sid_04B41_2.0_Reg_BaseOL.p5f"

Has anyone else ever gotten this error?

Edit: I just tried downloading some other tunes and they were all successful including 2.0 OL performance. It seems the problem with downloading is only with the 2.0 OL base file.

Not being able to DL Base files was an indication that FM was not updated properly. Check your Win Program Files. Do you have two installation folders? Toyota Flash and / or OVTuned? If you still see Toyota Flash, just do / re-do this:
    https://www.ovtuned.com/blogs/news/flash-manager-1-3-0-released-with-new-logger

    And then:

I only have one installation folder called "Toyota Flash"

Anyone else think 2.0 base is much smoother than the FOB?

Depends on the truck and what you want. I’ve run them both and SFOB is definitely more aggressive.

    I have ran them all.

I don't like them on 87 octane. But am about to go back to base with 93 as it seems to be the best fit for me.

I'm gonna knock out the ADM this weekend, 20k miles with it and I'm over it.

I went directly to FOB and 93 and I like the response, especially at about 4k RPM.

I got OVTUNE when 1.05 was the newest tune and I always ran FOB. I flashed 2.0 FOB when 2.0 came out and it always felt a bit choppy or something around 2500-3000 rpm when I would romp on it. I do miss the torque. But the gas mileage loss around town was killing me

So I have flashed my truck multiple times experimenting with different octanes and just flashed once more this morning. I noticed something in the instructions I never noticed before. The instructions towards the bottom of the PDF state, "Flash the ECU file first, then load the TCU file and flash that." It is my understanding when I open the Toyota Flash Manager and go through the procedure of downloading the file to my laptop then flash my truck that this satisfies the entirety of flashing your ECU. At this point I start my truck let it idle for 5 min and I'm good to go... right? What is the TCU file? Have I only been completing half of the tune procedure? Thanks in advance.

You don't have a TCU to flash anyway, you've a MT.

That's for AT and it's old, they don't need to flash a second file anymore
