Wheelersoffroad.com coil overs

Ok, was about to order my Icon coil overs. I found on they have a package deal. The Icons and the TC UCAs for $1599.00. Cool right? But the coil overs part #s don't match!
The part # for Icon coil over from Icon's web sight is 5-8630. The part # "in" the package deal on wheelersoffroad.com is 5-8635!?! Why is there always a catch? I emailed whellersoffroad to ask the diffrence. No responce. Does anyone know? I read something about an extended travel Icon coil over, but I have never seen such a thing, not even on Icon's sight. if you can shed some light hook me up.

 

the icons with the "5" as the last number are the extended travel series. they are not on the website but i saw the same thing and talked to the guys at icon. they also said that with the extended travel coils you will have to use a uca with them. but with the standard travel if set at less then 3" u do not need to run ucas but it would be better n the long run. gonna order the same setup from wheelers but lost my wallet and am still waiting for all the replacement cards so i can do the damage

 

oh ya wheelers also sells a kit with the camburg uca's. just be careful if you go that route because ive heard of camburg sending the wrong sized ucas to people. im personally going to go with the total chaos ucas but im gonna hold off on getting them right away.

 

Do the extended travel Icons look, ride, feel the same? Do they give lift? Im just weirded out cause I have been looking at getting the Icons for about three months now and this is the first I have heared of the extended travel Icons. I was going to get the TC UCAs at the same time, so should I just get the extended travel ones?

Icons is the new name for Donahoe coilover......Just so you know they renamed the company after one of the owners got cuaght with kiddie porn. I personally will never buy anything from this company.

I have the icon setup and I would buy it again even with all this new info.
Think about the rest of the crew there, that had their lives turned up side down cuz of this guys perversion. They have nothing to do with his criminal actions and have a lot of their lives invested in the product line. It would be a shame to punish them. That guy will get his while in prison fo sho.

Does anyone know if they just changed the name or if this is a new company.

I just cant understand what these people find sexual about children. I guess its some kind of mental problem. throw away the key is my opinion. one chance in life to not be a predator is enough.

 

Just so as not to be misunderstood........I did not state my first comment to start a flame war or get off subject on Bearskills thread just wanted you to know the facts about Icon/Donahoe.
Wheelers is a great company to buy from as I have bought from them in the past.....best way to reach them is by phone....e-mail questions may take a couple days.

 

I think your post was fine. I didn't know the story so I appreciated the link to read some of the details. Chris4x4 brought up some other good points I hadn't thought about.
