That’s quite a surprise on the MPG report from your trip. Wasn’t expecting to be that good. Judging by the rpm vs tp I would expect a stock truck to get less than 20. NICE work! Even more stoked about the pump control, wow. Taking the Taco to a new level.

It’s PTP lava wrap. I do not live in a wet climate. I mean..It rains, but nothing major. I’ve used the wrap on my motorcycle exhaust and it’s been a year or 2. Once it gets some heat cycles it stays put. Albeit, I have never caked it in mud..but I would assume getting dirt out would be troublesome. Worst case it will burn off

    Yes. Yes indeed.

I'll grab a bunch of pics today when the weather clears a bit.

it was better than I expected as well. I actually think you guys can get better than that if you live where there is flat ground. Where I live the highway is nothing but rolling hills.

But the odd thing is to me personally, this truck just drives better in 4High. I've been driving it in 4High for a few weeks now ensuring that all aspects of the tune feel right where they should be, and with the exception of tight turns (yes I know 4H, tight turns dry pavement is no no but whatever), the truck just feels and performs better. 2WD just feels floppy and loose...

I told you guys I want t osee if I can break something on the truck with boost but so far I can't. Not even 4High at 100MPH lol

I doubt you will, at least where speed is concerned. The only speed limit factor for 4hi is swapping to and from 2hi-4hi at 60mph or less. After that you can go as fast as you like and it won't harm the truck.

Obviously tight turns in 4hi when you don't need to be in 4x4 will start messing with your driveline but that's a separate issue, not speed related.

How about some 4h donuts in a parking lot? We’ll call it off road stress testing. Cuz we know someone will do it..

Didn't think it would but might as well test anyway. Google about 4H on the highway people talk like its extremely dangerous.....

    I'll try this
can't get a good launch. I have tried and tried, but below 3500 RPM in 1rst gear the ECU limits throttle. I have not found a way around it yet.

Maybe this is a good thing for the drive train.

The ECU and TCU are two physically separate systems connected by can bus right? Assuming this is right, what difference does the ECU really NEED to make between gears?

Did you try power braking it? I get the following lights on the dash and don’t notice any throttle limit with the pedal to the floor from a dead stop in 2 wheel high. After a 15-20 mile ride cycle the key on\off all the lights go out and all is well again.

I have tried, and after about 10 seconds my dash says "brake and throttle pressed simultaneously" and shuts throttle down.

I just need to find the 1rst gear throttle limiter in the ECU.

Here are a few pics (without engine cover).

I also decided to purchase a front bumper so that next year we can modify it for folks with front bumpers.

    Yes I have been.
Actually I enjoy driving it so much now I'm planning a full build for it this winter. Starting with the front bumper.

7psi. Standard kit psi.that way everything I test, do, log etc is exactly for the kit we ship to you guys.

The tune is done though, it's superb. I only made a few small adjustments to highway 5th/6th for smooth full throttle boost (in gear lock) for super low RPM.

After all kits are out, shipped, installed, I'll start running and testing daily on 14psi. I've already tested and 14psi on the street is ridiculous.
