    Been seeing a S64 take off and land several times past two days. Petaluma muni-airport is temporary fire base for helicopters. Fuels up then heads out toward Tomales Bay for Woodward fire air support.

    Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
    First one is the spotter plane and helps guide the DC10 to it's spot. I'm sure they're working overtime out of Sac and a few other places loading those with fire retardant. I'd hate to be groundcrew (aircraft) right now.

    Hence the nuts part! Not many people would push anything to the limit and do it over and over again.

    Nuts is also the guys on the ground knowing it’s coming and hoping they are on point with their drop cause that much dropped would kill you in a fast second, it would hurt.

    I remember seeing a video of a tanker drop that hit and crushed a SUV. It was insane. If you search, you'll even find videos that show you how they work. It's friggin amazing. The tankers that scoop water are even more amazing-it's amazing to think such a tiny scoop can fill the tanks in a few seconds.

    Went from Utica side. Checked out the gauntlet after setting up camp. It was my first time seeing it, but it's apparently quite a bit harder than it used to be. Ferny took a stab at it, but struggled more than he should have due to locker issues.

    Wasn't too crowded at all!
