I only have experience with the Spartan locker. Relatively inexpensive, I think I paid around $250 for it from Amazon. It was pretty easy to install. I’ve been using it for the past six years and have had zero issues with it. It chirps the tires in tight turns and makes a ratcheting noise when it unlocks. Other than that it’s been amazing on the trails. 5B89957B-41DF-43FA-84EA-EAE0C98CAD26.jpg

I have mine installed in a manual trans ‘88 4rnr. It’ll fit any 8” 4cyl. rear. The V6 model is slightly different. Unfortunately I realized it doesn’t fit the Tacoma. You’ll need to find something that fits the 8.4.
