97K - Flushed the trans on the Tacoma and replaced filter screen and pan gasket, flushed radiator and cooling system, lubed shaft, and replaced serpentine belt. Needs oil change & tire rotation, new brake fluid, and Colorado, here we come.

You guys know I'm always buying and selling stuff. Well, sometimes more buying than selling, but whatever. I found this guy that is selling the front suspension off a 2018 tacoma with the exception of the UCAs.

I saw stock spindles and thought to myself: "You know, one day, I might want gusseted spindles if I really built the suspension with adjustable coilovers or went long-travel." So, a few hundred bucks and a welding buddy later, I could have gusseted spindles ready for the next time I get in the suspension. Extra strength for hard hits even if I didn't build the suspension anymore than what is currently is. When I ask how much he wants for just the spindle/knuckles, he says he isn't separating.....

    .....

Who in the world needs new tacoma spindles, stock height billies, stock u-bolts (that some would argue shouldn't even be used again), and the stock skid plate with mounting cross member things?? If you're changing the spindles, my guess is you're putting in a spindle lift or going long-travel, not stock height replacements. The only time you'd need that stuff is if you're fixing a wreck. And in a 3rd gen, a wreck would probably be an insurance gig; not a fix it yourself type of thing.

    Whatever. GLWS, my guy.

Sorry, felt like ranting. Probably didn't need to be building gusseted spindles anyway....Can't have nothin'.

September 10-13 there’s a fly-in STOL competition at Byrd’s. Wish I had the weekend off... I’d be up there camping and watching airplanes compete
