I am happy to read this. I didn’t want to jump to 4.56 gears because I still DD mine regularly but I definitely have the weight for 4.30’s.

Gents, smallest pulley size you can run without cutting the snout? 2.85?

I also have the factory JBL and just did a head unit upgrade, made a huge improvement in the sound. They really liked having a better signal or more power or something. But it sounds way better. By no means full system clean or anything like that, but I noticed a huge improvement. Quite impressed for chintzy paper speakers really.

I can report that a factory tundra muffler is absolutely fantastic for highway driving! It is soooooooo quiet. I didn't notice any boost changes so I assume it is just as free flowing as the URD spec.U exhaust. I just cut the exhaust off after the resonator and built a y pipe that went from 3" to dual 2.25" and then into the muffler and then used a section of factory tailpipe shortened up on both ends to go up and over the axle and dumped it pointing down right after the axle. I ran out of welding gas like two welds into the project so I chased pinholes like crazy. So they are the worst looking welds I have every seen. She is bit raspy under hard acceleration but I can deal with that way more than how loud it was just going down the highway since the gear change. Even 3500 rpm in 4th, as if I was towing at 70mph was completely doable. I know it will be a bit different with a load on the truck from towing but it can't be bad. Also no matter what I have done to this truck out back exhaust wise has been raspy. From what I have found I believe it has to do with the y-pipe being too long. So I better get on the Roost list if I want it gone for good. And then I can just built a whole new exhaust from it back again and make it much much much nicer.

It is just an old Pioneer that I got on trade when I sold the wheels and tires off of my spec.B after we traded it in. Nothing fancy but is a double DIN DVD player.

All the talk of the KEG muffler and I couldn't find one so I figured why not try it. I was desperate to quiet it down as I have two weekends of camping ahead of me and too many miles to get there. And my kids are getting to age that if we want to have conversation with them we have to force it out of them. So in the vehicle is a great time. But we couldn't even have a conversation before without yelling. And I need to drive to ND to go pick up a '89 Toyota truck I bought from my brother like 3 years again since my son will have is license way too soon. He will be able to borrow this truck from me until he can buy one himself after he can get a job at 16.
