I recently had an ARE CX HD shell put on my 3rd gen Tacoma Double cab a couple of weeks ago. Looks pretty good and the one option is to have the heavy duty interior frame with factory roof racks mounted onto the internal frame. The only concern is whether I need to add additional bars to support an RTT? There appears to be a good deal of separation between the forward and rear stock racks and I'm curious. I'll have a couple of images of it later today.

    Thanks for any info!

depends on the tent’s mounting options. Some tents need multiple crossbars to distribute the load. Some don’t.

If you’re asking about the shell’s weight capacity, Many people put RTTs on shells that do not have the added weight capacity and they are just fine. You will probably be just fine too
