Two things, GSDLVR123; first, the interior cost me $1400 in labor, and just over $200 for the faux leather [vinyl]. Secondly, I JUST noticed your german shepherd! Totally COOL dog! LOVE German Shepherds!

That's not a lot if it makes you happy. I'm just too cheap - LOL. Thanks - he is our current GSD...we've dealt with them for 20 plus years...he is personal protection trained (including tracking) for our family. We have dealt a lot with Schutzhund, but this dog is strictly for the protection aspect. He goes everywhere...he too is a Tacoma fan - though not sure of his feelings about the black interior.

Yes, I installed the wood dash kit myself. It came from CarId.com. Go to their site, and there will be a tab for interior, and then click on Dash kits. There are a LOT of choices as far as the real wood colors and types of wood. It is all custom made for your vehicle, and laser cut. So it takes a little time to get it. You will not get it overnight! But, for me, at the time, it was the first thing I did to lighten up the otherwise DARK interior, and I was happy with it. Since I did the vinyl interior though, I might have been tempted to have my upholsterer do the dash in vinyl too, instead of the dash cover I have in there now, and instead of the wood kit. But I do like the wood kit, although I did take off a couple of the pieces I put on, such as on the side of the door grab handles.

Yeah, I have always had German Shepherds. My last dog died and I haven't gotten another one. She was just too cool for me! She was SO military in how she acted; very disciplined, and like yours, she loved to go with me everywhere. I had a xtracab tacoma at the time, and I actually took out the passenger seat, and replaced it with thick foam rubber piece, that extended all the way from under the dash to the rear of the cab area. I covered that with blanket and towels, and that was her spot! On the rare occasions when the wife had to ride with us, the wife rode in the back, squeezed in! I told people that "my best girl rides up front with me"! So true...

I totally get that. My dog died in 2009, and I still have her pic as my desktop background on my computer. I can't get myself to change it!

I understand!!!! The Christmas after Major died, my wife had this made for for me...it was wrapped under the tree. I was totally not expecting it. I must admit, I'm an old gruff guy...i had to walk off...had something in my eye. I keep it beside my bed - first thing I look at in the morning and the last thing I see before I go to bed.

That's great. I like stuff like that. I tell people about when I drove across the country from CA to FL, NC, and back to CA, back in 2005 in my old 96 Tacoma. I took my German Shepherd with me. I still say that was the highlight of my life, although I guess I should probably mention my wedding somewhere in there too! If one has a disciplined dog, then taking a cross country trip is a lot of fun. I got lucky, in that it seemed everywhere we stopped, there were places for her to go to the bathroom. At hotels, again, it seemed there was some kind of woods around, where she could run. One time, when we stopped at a motel in Oklahoma, I took her out to this field that was right there. She immediately got the scent of jackrabbits, and the hunt was on! Finally, a jackrabbit jumped up and started running! My dog took off after the rabbit, but there was no chance she was going to catch it! Still though, after riding in my truck for hours, it was great exercise and I don't know who had more fun, my dog, or me watching her have so much fun!

Sorry, this looks Ghetto. Missing Dingle ball trim around the windows, fuzzy dice, and sheep skin seats and dash. Yes the BARF award.
