So, this is the fun part...
Depending on what you have, I used a pry bar that I could hit with a hammer. I tried using a rubber mallet but that didn’t work. The cv has flat spot/flanges near the xfer case, put something there, like a prybar and hit it. After several good hits, turn the cv to the next flat and try again, it’ll eventually start moving out, slowly. There is a c clip inside that is keeping it in.

I used these prybars, I got just to get that thing out. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07NDF51FQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image

I won’t tackle the CV until middle week now maybe replace both sides I wonder how hard passenger side is probably the same. I’m gonna get these shocks in and other bearing out. Those wheel bearings are a beast to remove holy hell.

I know right, took me close to an hour to get that cv out. Then prolly close to 30 min to get it in.
Luckily I’m pretty mechanically inclined lol. Usually just to break things or strip them.

Oh on top of all that my air compressor took a shit on me. I love how Ironman works in new cars and like doesn’t even break a sweat lol my wife told me not to come inside until I’m done. I told y’all I’m working in the dirt gravel driveway I will say with heat and spray everything has popped right apart. Now I’m dealing with the bolt for the UCA I swear why does Toyota do this with every model UCA bolt. They make trucks that are “OR” but make something like that stupid to bend and smash everything

My wife would ask what happened now lol. Ive seen that those can be a pain to get off (UCA) and you need to either cut or bend some metal for the bolt to come out.

I did exactly like the Ironman video for the UCA.. the difference is that it took me 5x longer than the video...

Just saying; reading the last 20+ posts has solidified why I didn’t try to tackle the install. Good luck guys.

Oh I'm good now haha the passenger side took like an hour but yeah the front plus UCAs was a beast I'm all good now everything is in need to do leaf packs but not today! I won't pay anyone though because I'm a glutton for punishment and I just know I can do it lol

Nice! I get that! I punish myself other ways these days. After doing mechanical work for a while, it just took my patience away. Never been as patient since then. You will have a much better understanding of what is going on with your suspension in the end. And that knowledge is priceless.

Agreed, I have been turning wrenches since I was a kid but this is the first suspension work I’ve ever dove in like this. Only reason is because I have read and watched countless videos on top of this forum and Toyota, besides the stupid UCA bolt, has made upgrading actually A pretty easy process. This was like doing drum brakes 4 hours one side an hour on the other. And yes I have a great understanding of my suspension now and the frustrations lol this is long overdue I just had the frame replacement and Toyota only replaced what was necessary. I’ll post pics of my pile of rusted parts and the finished stuff. I tried to take pics along the way. The guys that do write ups have serious patience haha

There was no way I could have taken progress pics while doing it, or being recorded for that matter.
Leaf pack is in the same place the last one was lost. Still expected to be delivered tomorrow. I was hoping it would be today since it got there yesterday. I’ll just have to hope.
