Rim guard is non corrosive so I question your tire place. Calcium is corrosive and will eat stems and rims. Over time the tires leak and tubes are needed. Washer fluid is a cheaper alternative if you don’t have freezing issues but not has heavy at RG.

Just price. I could get a Bad Boy with the specifications I was looking for and pay less money. I've been pleased with it so far.

That was me that posted that. I know it's not corrosive (hence the name Rim Guard) :) I questioned it as well, but they said it eats the valve stem seals. I also noted that I did not know the legitimacy of the statement, just something that he might want to check out before spending all that money on the RG.

My calcium filled wheels lasted from 1964-2019, eventually leaked out of the valve stems and ate the wheel. It was a pretty good run, though. I'm with you, as far as cost I think that the washer fluid is the best bang for the buck.

So I looked into this a little more. Found a lot of reports of rimguard dissolving the adhesive that holds the brass insert into the rubber valve stem. Typical case is that it works fine, until it's dissolved enough that the next time you take the valve cap off, the core breaks and/or comes out with the cap and is unable to be fixed. Apparently this has only become a problem in the last 10-15 years after updates to the adhesive used in the stems. If you use a proper metal valve (even better if it's one rated for air and liquid), then there's nothing in there for the rimguard to dissolve.

Seems silly that they don't just include metal valve stems on all tractor tires.

I'm planning on having the stems in the rear tires swapped out for metal. Now just debating between rimguard at $4/gallon, or RV antifreeze for ~$3 (which seems a little safer than washer fluid).

Rim guard is 11lb/gal. Not sure what rv is but probably around 8lb similar to water. Do you want to save a few coins or pay for the added weight benefit

Loaded the tractor on the trailer to do some scraping. Used the hand hole on the fender to get on and off. Noticed this bees nest after I got off on the trailer. I’ve already sprayed and knocked one nest off there this summer.

I fabbed a 2" receiver hitch out of a bumper hitch, mounted it to my 3205 so I could test it out brush hogging. Make sure all leaks are fixed before putting the body on.

My road frontage was 3ft tall and I had rats running out in front of me. 3205 and Swisher hog ran great. 3205 steering is tight. I figure it's got a bad bearing at the tilt mechanism or something that needs to be addressed.

I also picked up some ATV tires to mount on it. $20 for the pair. They have about 1/2 of the tread gone but plenty of life left for a GT. I cut sipes in the worn tread to give more traction.

Got some pics of me bush hogging yesterday. The bottom picture, I’m on the tractor but look like a ghost.

My BX never ceases to amaze me. I removed a tree that fell in my yard from the tornado two weeks ago. I wanted to get permission from the adjacent landowner to access the tree from their property so it took a while. It was a pretty big tree, but I had it cleared in about 5 hours. I was working with the mower deck attached and I was even able to mow the area where the tree had fallen once it was removed. This little machine was manhandling the piles of brush and holding up sections of the tree so I could buck them in to firewood sized logs. The guys on the adjacent land called it a "bad mother fvcker":rofl:
