    I drilled out the hole in the end of the pin that holds the slider adapter on and used a small luggage lock instead of the cotter pin.

    Good idea! I saw some people run looped cables through both lugs and lock it. I like the locking knob and it's much cleaner too.

    I thought about that knob but ppl say it seizes up and you have to cut it off after a while Id put a little anti seize on the key every now and then.

    Mine has been outside for 3 years, never had an issues, I squirt graphite in it if it gets tight

    Yes sir it does. Oil change recommended every 10K miles, but I change every 7.5K since I drive long distance to and from work during the week. My 2nd gen was 5-30w every 5K.

    Damn I do 10w-30 in mine every 3k it's recc for 5w but I got some high mileage so I use that oil and a little heavier cold weight.

    I ain't never had no oil problems running the recommended weight. I ran nothing but shell oil in the 2nd gen and it's got about 320K miles on it and my son still drives it like a bat out of hell!

    I got mine second hand. If you're able to do it since day one and are good about it you shouldn't have any issues. Most people aren't good about it and since mine was used I'm a little more cautious
