Unfortunately in this day and age you have to also think ahead about possible looters, they’re already seeing this in the Santa Cruz Fire. So not only pack up vital paperwork you need to restart your life but think about bank statements, pension plans, medical records, anything you might leave behind that an identity thief could use to ruin your ability to start anew. I’m old school and have all that in paper but for this reason alone I may go paperless in future.

Not a tremendous amount of looters, and the ones I’ve seen seem to be looking for jewelry or meth.

I don’t think it’s a “day and age” thing, looters have been around since forever. Gleaners used to rob the dead on battlefields. Leave stuff unwatched and it walks. Sadly, rules don’t change human behavior.

Another shitty smoke filled day here in Oakland. Taking my truck to dealer to investigate an oil leak around right front drive line area. Truck is packed up for bugging out, and I’m waiting here in Livermore.

This truck doesn’t look too bad in all black. Takes away that monster front grill look. Why put Nerf bars, with steps that lower it even more, on a TRD Pro?

CHP here confirms your identity and address then escorts you to your home, does a sweep then allows you to enter. Looters have been terrible so far.

Definitely looting, just not as rampant or widespread as the news/social media rumors suggests IMO.

I feel like looters should be shot. Maybe just with indelible ink so everyone knows what a shitstick you are and so if you're caught the next time, well; I'll leave you to that.

That would be a good idea! Here in CA it would likely be more of a pain to deal with the aftermath of actually shooting someone than just letting them come through and clear you out. lol. Sounds awful to even imagine being in that situation either way, but good god, the shit people have to deal with for protecting their property any means necessary is crazy. I thank the concealed carry license classes for opening my eyes to that other side people sometimes forget about.

i think so far the worst story out of all this is the officers wife who was shot (i went to school with his children) in 2011, just bought a brand new huge country home and lost her new house in this fire. Poor family has been through the ringer.

If anyone wants the gunmetal grey stock front bumper w/fog lights (off a 2015 sport) and can pick up in Pleasanton... it's yours.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
Winds are really pushing the smoke and fire north from you guys. It is terrible up here on base... We were told to limit time out of the office if we don't have N95s to wear. Its in the buildings pretty bad too... Should be a fun few days. Couldn't imagine being closer to you guys right now.

Ive been slacking since i set my eyes on greener pastures (permitless CC state).

But you bet the momemt i start carrying ill have insurance for it.

Nothing like carrying to protect yourself and your property only to be sued in civil court after youve been cleared criminally
