I think I am going to switch back to the 2.0 final with the slight stumble start. That seems to work best on my truck and the stumble was either non-existent or very brief. 19770 is probably my second favorite followed by the latest 2.0 final base stock premium for stock wheel size.

I did this a few hundred miles ago. Only difference I was able to notice was holding gear longer during acceleration. Not sure if there is any other difference, but that’s the only thing I’ve noticed. Trucks still likes to stay around 1,000-1400rpm while driving after accelerating.

I agree with you, the stumble start tune was the best by far. Wish I could get that version without the stumble. I can't go back to it since I traded in my dongle and can't use my old tunes LOL

Instructions say id calibration and email for stock tune do you have to wait for your stock tune file before flashing?

You need to install flash manager and get the system ID for the software. Send that in and you’ll get a reg key. Once you have that, you can flash your truck with one of the currently available tunes.

Off the bat, happy with the no surging while creeping into the garage and busy shift reduction on my drive into town on slight hills, truck uses 5th quite a bit more now. Very happy about that.

Not noticing any improvement with the 3-4k power transition in first gear. Does that smooth out with miles?

Also having some odd shifts on 3-4 and 4-5. Where it pulls power then shifts, not very smooth. Guessing that will mellow with learning.

Did you do reset lv and reset at?

the first 100 miles or so you’ll get some odd shifts and stuff. Once you are around 400-500, you should be golden.

I followed your procedure on ignition on/flash/off/on/reset values/off/run for 10min.

I can personally vouch for rougher shifting for a bit. If I don’t reset lv and at then I don’t experience the shifting issues but whenever he recommends reset I do it and after the first full tank it is completely smoothed out each time for me.

The 35 tune seems to hold gears longer when actually running 33s... Interesting

    holds gears longer as in:
    • holds longer/higher RPM before upshifting
    • holds longer before realizing it needs to downshift into the powerband
    • all of the above?
I'm trying to determine which one I should be using for my truck. I've got 34's and have been running the THX_35 tune. I'm mostly happy with it, but it's not quite there

well it would hold longer because it thinks you're running a larger tire, so shift points are raised... it's doing what it's programmed to do

I believe we have solved the issue with 5.29s and speed limits.
Will publish results soon. Need more testers on various ECUs.

Just been looking through this thread again, I've been off here for a while , I thought I was going to a tundra but things changed and I still have my Tacoma. I had the ov tune kit and sold it , but am looking to purchase again , however is it true I can't use any of the ovtune/vf products? Am I reading that right?
