I upgraded the tweeters in my 3rd gen non-JBL with the Subaru Kickers already, and now I'm ready for the doors, but the Kicker 46CSC6934 6x9 has been out of stock for quite some time. Is there another speaker in the $75 - $100 range that you would recommend?

Also, there may be a Kicker Key 180.4 amp upgrade in my future in the coming year or two. Should I just wait it out and keep Kickers all around?

I went with all RF stuff, zero complaints. I think they're a better value than the Kickers especially if you do the separates in the rear doors and use the tweeters up front.

The only reason that Kicker thread started was Crutchfield had a buy one get one sale at the time. Its kinda stuck and people here just go Kicker and don't really shop around enough.

Use crutchfield and compare sounds. Their site has a good virtual sound comparison tool that I found very helpful. I ended up going with sound ordinance components.

Interesting. I saw that this was an option on the Crutchfield website, but it seemed weird to compare the sound of different speakers by playing it through speakers at my house. Seems like whatever speakers/headphones I use to listen to it online would have a big impact. Can't hurt to give it a try though I guess.

It gives you headphone options so of you have something in the option menu it works well. If not, I think it is still useful just to compare different sounds

I had never done speakers in any car I've owned (I'm in my 40s...) and literally ANYTHING should be better than the Non-JBL stock. And I have no idea how 'good' or 'bad' the JBLs are. The non-JBL feel mostly like cardboard.
