Why are the 2.8 pulleys made in 2.85 or 2.825? Why not just 2.8?

Also +111 on Smoothflow. Nate had to re-work his design a bit to make a 1.87" for me but he didn't charge me extra. Great service.

Speaking of 2.8" pulleys, I do have a question for you guys. I finally convinced my friend to go smaller, I ordered a 2.8" pulley from Smoothflow for him. Did you guys who have the 2.8" Smoothflow pulleys need to cut the snout at all?

 

Of the Keg muffler from the Ram or the Toyota tundra muffler?

17420-0S070 I just pulled one of the take offs we had at work from when we put a TRD cat back on. Have about 6 more if anyone wants one. I can cut the long tubes off the inlet and wrap it in tape and send them out.

 

A pile of the stuff I started with and how I laid it out and made it work.

 

APR started the stealth pulleys with the 2.85. My guess was that was as small as you could go before having to cut down the snout with the APR 2.7 and 2.6. Urd went the other direction with the red bling 2.825 pulley. My guess they didn’t go lower with a 2.8 due to fitment.

I’m curious if a 2.8 would actually fit properly without having to shave down the snout a little.

Do you know what the inlet and outlet diameters are on the tundy muffler?

 

Best move in this situation is to take the diameter of the snout in untouched condition then take the diameter measurements of the 2.8 pulley using some digital calipers and then subtract your diameters to determine if there will be enough meat there or lack thereof to run it in an untrimmed condition.

So I have a auxiliary fuse block installed where they want me to mount the coolant resevoir for my SC. Anyone have a successful relocation spot?

@DocME has the best solution. That is much easier than moving all the wires. A few others have plumbed the reservoir over there as well.

No idea why that is so common, but Smoothflow DOES make 2.8. That extra 0.025 gives all the bewsts.
