Hi-Lift Mount -KB Voodoo

I'm looking to mount my Hi-Lift on TOP of my crossbars like in the picture below. This is a very simple location to do it, but I can't find a set of mounts that do this for me. I can fab some up, but seems like someone makes it.

Also, I hear that the holes on the uprights of the KB VooDoo allow for Hi-Lift mounting. I don't see how that's possible without a good amount of standoff. I could be wrong. Show me. Please and thank you.

 

I have a serious question... What good is a hi-lift jack on a Tacoma? Wlift points are there on a Tacoma that can be used with a hi-lift? I have a hi-lift jack and considering selling it as I cannot see it's usefulness. On a Tacoma.

 

Look into pro eagle. Much more useful in my opinion.

 

The entire side(s) of my truck can be lifted with a Hi-Lift. Also it can be used as a winch.

 

You need to have some body armor or wheel straps to use as jack points for a hilift. Not a whole lot of options on a stock truck. Check out safe jack.they make a bunch of adapters for bottle jacks. A lot less sketchy.

These rails have a track system right? Use some gusseted angle brackets with some t-slot nuts

It's not, it's just sitting on the rails. I'd like to mount it in that orientation.

Your suggestion works and I happen to have those lying around at work I could mock up. I just thought surely someone made mounts like that. Guess not.

 

Have you tried using a hi lift to lift the side of the truck? Even 1 wheel? It is really difficult on flat ground, nevermind off road. It is a good tool, but make sure to have a bottle jack or pro eagle as well.

It kind of looks like its being held on by the runner and the clevis, I cant see anything attached to the bar in that pic...

 

It's not attached to anything. I just set it there for a mock up. I'll slide the runner up to clear the cross-bar.

 

I'm not familiar with that bar so I'm not sure what options you'd have, why don't you take a look at Rhino Racks to see if they haven't something that might work..

If the holes on the jack line up with the vertical legs you use some stainless steel threaded rod, washers and nylock nuts.

I was able to do that on the swing out on my old pathfinder, it worked great. The nylocks held the jack snug.

 

you use the below adapter anywhere along the rock sliders. Also carry a shovel to level the ground the best you can for the base.

 

I have no problem lifting my taco with a Hi-lift on the rock sliders.

 

I asked the guys at Voodoo this same question today as the description notes the mounting on the uprights. They replied to "just use 1/2" bolts". I also noticed what your mentioned that you'd need a pretty good stand off to be sure the jack base doesn't hit the bed side. I'd love for them to make something like this that lines up to their upright bolt holes so I don't lose bar space.

 

You should ask @Shmellmopwho , he builds them as well and they are cheaper then $68.

I ended up using these, but welded 2'' plates at the ends and drilling my own holes. It's not the best looking but not that bad either.
