What do you intend to use it for? Yard size?, Snowplowing, pull a cart, cultivator?

Pretty much flat. I own five acres basically about one is grass rest is woods. Front yard is perfectly flat the backyard a little lumpy but no hills at all.

OK. Those little lawn tractors are decent at mowing flat yards ~ 1acre or less. Where they come up short is in the transmissions. They won't tolerate any heavy use. The trans has a very small oil capacity and can overheat if overused drastically shortening their life.

I always said if I needed a little riding mower I'd change the hydro oil to synthetic ASAP to get the most life out of it as they have dino oil that doesn't take heat very well. This May void the warranty though.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
My parents had a John Deere riding mower like that one from HD. Did fine on their few acres of mostly flat area.
I had stepped up to a X300 model but the trans was slipping before I could finish my own 3 acres of hilly area. I had to exchange it up to X500 (has locking diff). Going on like 9 or 10 years with it now I think and still doing great. Thought it had a problem earlier this year but then realized I hadn't done maintenance for over 2 years.:facepalm:Plugs, filters, engine oil, diff oil, belts, etc and it's running like new again.

I just sold an xt1. We had it for a little over 2 years. It was a good little machine. I definitely wasn’t gentle on it. We used it almost exclusively for snow removal on our steep asphalt driveway. It did that surprisingly well for what it is. I’m sure I would have worn out the trans had I kept using it for that application, so we moved up to something stouter with 4wd.
But for flat-ish mowing, I think it would do well for you.

did you have any belt issues with it? I read some stuff about drive belts kept snapping or falling off. I know my dads mentioned the belts breaking more recently on his Cub GT2042 And says they are cheaper made but that’s a different series.

Didn't have any belt issues on mine while I had it. Only work I ever did on it was scheduled maintenance.

I hear a lot of folks comment about belt breakage when the machine has an electric PTO clutch. It works same as AC clutch, and the engagement is very abrupt, an aged belt doesn’t have a chance. Nor do low quality belts.

Manual levers and pedals release slower, if the operator isn’t a complete dolt....
My Kubota has a 60” deck and 3 blades, I engage at low rpm then throttle up, belt is 10 years old, I saw that it had a chunk out of it this last spring, it’s replacement is waiting....

The man I bought my 4630 from, I went over to get a round bale of hay for our goats today and got a few pictures of some of their tractors (he and his brother are in together). I don’t even know how many they have for sure.

    This is a 1990’s 3930, one owner.

Found this picture of an unstyled John Deere B I restored for a friend, my dads 1970 JD 1020 he bought new, and a JD 2555 I had several years ago. And also our Jon boat that hasn't been wet in 8 years.

Just a guess, 60? I see it has power steering, don't think the 50's did.
