    ive just goof off, that works well. also armor all seemed to work. call me half retarded but wd40 did a good job of getting tape residue off of my paint so im gonna try it on my that center console next

    I won't call you any names.

    wd is fairly paint friendly.. I use something designed for it.. but wd will work.

    Goof off should be used very sparingly. I wouldn't use it on vinyl on something that you expect to be as long lived as a truck.
    Think of it like leather. you don't want to "dry it out". Its a lot more complicated than that.. but solvents on oil based polymers is a bad idea. I'm sure someone with an org chem degree could argue this and that. But you don't know what kind of vinyl it is or what solvents are in goof off.

    The hand grease is bad enough. THat can react with some plastics.
