I found the laser cutting cuts the verticals for the things at an angle and started assembling them angled out and used those for the larger nut side adjuster. It's sloppy tolerance on an important bit given how little room the plates provide.

 

Yeah I see the photo better now on the computer, didn't really close the gap though like I thought you had managed.

Yeah not very impressive. Im hoping the TC shock relocation is better quality...but don't have my hopes up. Right now im 3 for 3 on shit filament from them.

 

And the way they mounted on the truck was awkward. Almost every one of the plates had to be modified to fit properly. There is a good reason that choas is part of their name.

 

Yeah I had to mod them a lot. Kind of dumb honestly.

I wonder if they have learned from the TC design. Some of the plates have a different shape to them.

 

nope i haven't. But yes those are cut for the rear tabs and the OEM weld on the cross member. I had to grind mine down like that, surprised you didn't. I would have tried those had I known.

Photos didn't show that haha but yeah I'd still imagine the AP ones would too. Kind of odd that they are good for pretty much every toyota from 95 onward.

Looks a little rougher now, but it needed work back then. Congrats on cracking the JH real estate market. I still kick my own ass that I didn’t buy a little shoe box in the corner of the gill addition that was $325k when I moved to Jackson in ‘02. The lot by itself would be 800k today.

 

Yes, you can lose the tone ring if you don't have ABS, but like you said just have to get the retainer lined up in the right spot for the seal to ride on. Will save you $35 per side or whatever the tone rings are going for these days.

 

I didn't reinstall mine. No issues.

The retainer doesn't depend on the tone ring for it to not move anyways. So yes it'll all be fine.

 

wait...you just lined up the retainer via calipers? You didn't test to see if it just rode in the seal correctly? I wouldn't go off one side matching the other, it's toyota, nothing matches anything. You should really just do the grease or the sharpie test.

Yeah always worth double checking. Easy fix if it's not...time consuming perhaps but still easy.
