Disables Traction Control which will prevent the truck from cutting power due to excessive wheel spin.

    Cool thanks for that!

Coming from a 93 pathfinder, manual trans, hubs and lock-right locker....this is definitely a lot more finicky.

Probably the fuel cut off so you don’t over rev the engine and ruin it.

To be fair, you can disable TC without being in 4hi or neutral. Just hold the TC button for about 7 seconds. I forget if there's any stipulations though (such as being below a certain speed or stopped to disengage)

This is a horrible problem with all gen 3 tacomas. I don’t know how to fix it. My son and I both have gen 3 Tacoma and have the exact problem. Both of us run swampers. ( don’t need a bozo telling me about tires). And besides we use these truck to get to camp and bogg down mud. U got to have wheel speed to clean tires. So if anyone knows how to eliminate this problem, all help would be appreciated. BTW. This is the 4th Toyota I’ve run down here. I regret getting rid of my 2003.

Add a Nitrous Oxide system and you won't need 4lo.
    Good luck with your truck.

Wow……an almost four year old thread brought back to life.

Chains for the win……don’t have to bounce of the rev limiter.

I’ve seen a Tacoma on YouTube stomping through some deep snow, pegging on the limiter, and they had tuned it to run higher.

I drive in the mud and snow all the time _with a manual transmission_ and I have never hit the rev limiter. There's no need for that much wheel speed unless you stole the truck and are trying to destroy it. Let off the throttle, boyz.

Once in 4l, hold you traction control botton for 5 secs and it should go to TRAC OFF. Hopefully this helps.
