Hi I have a 2020 trd sport 4x4 and I was wondering with some mud tires can my truck be better off road and are sports good at mudding?

As someone that took my stock tacoma offroading into mud with street tires and got stuck immediately. Yes mud tires would be better off-road. Depending on what you’re thinking of doing though, take a look at all terrains.

Once I got bigger tires (all terrains) I was able to go through the same place I got stuck before.

@Joey778 So I actually have the SR5, there’s only been one instance where I haven’t been able to do something that a OR or Sport could do. That was mainly due to them having lockers.

Yes and no. It depends on your application. Tires and suspension aside, the OR has crawl control and a locking rear differential which will make a big difference. However, for general 4x4 use, there isn't much difference.

    Welcome to TW!

Yes mud tires will help and yes a sport will do just fine. Wheel speed is your friend when mudding. You want them spinning fast to help clear the mud from the tread of your tire. The theory behind mud tires is the larger lugs and more open space between treads will allow mud to dislodge easier and pack less than all terrain and highway terrain tires, but you need speed in order for that to happen. If you do plan on doing a decent amount of mudding/water activities I highly recommend looking into breather relocations for your front/rear diff and transfer case. Last thing you want is them getting clogged up and them becoming pressurized and blowing a seal.

Bilstein 5100 with an accompanying spring. I have the OME 887 to support my front bumper. They are a very budget friendly, tried and true shock set up for the mild off-roader. Unless you are out in the desert at high speeds you'll not see the true advantage of the king's and see their true value. Do research on which spring height and spring rate will work best for your application for the Bilstein 5100 and what ever you do, if you use any spring heavier or taller than stock keep the shock set at the 0" height setting.
