I noticed a strange sound and vib this morning when I got off. I'm hoping the CB drop will solve it.

I think the 1st gens would make cool camping rigs. I have no intentions of getting rid of my Tacoma :D

I've been watching vids on the 1st gens. They're pretty dang cheap.

It was super comfortable. Lots of room for cargo. Obviously the engine is bulletproof.

What they don’t tell you is the nonstop dash lights that come on. Check engine for Evap codes even after I replaced literally everything. Brake lights commonly for master cylinder or Brake booster. Plus poorly designed lower ball joints prone to failure. I just got tired of dealing with piddly bs.

That said, if anyone’s looking for one, I know a local dealer selling one with all new evap system, brakes, and freshly rebuilt moog front end

Yeah, mine is a click/rattle when I let off the gas. Google says prob the diff.
Also my parking brake light comes on when the brake isn't applied. Google says I need to add brake fluid.

Yeah, I haven't really looked past that. I feel like I'm gonna have to actually take it somewhere for this one. Kinda afraid to cause I don't want to pay out of my ass for it...

yeah YouTube vids will have you believing they can drive to the moon and back and never have a single issue. The longer I had it the more issues I found were common to them.

Sounds like when I worked for Mercedes/Bmw in college. Delivering a couple brand new CLS with ABS malfunctioning.

Yeah, I might take it to PepBoys for an inspection or something at least.

I took the wife's car in to do the brakes (I was feeling lazy) but then they quoted me $900+ for just brakes/rotors so I told em to shove it. (Also quoted like $2k for suspension) Can get all those parts and DIY for ~$500...
Maybe I can tell them I hear a noise and then once they diagnose it, tell them it's too much and go DIY it

They do. It’s not as active as this one from what I saw. And a lot of it was like “well it’s probably this, but then replace that, if that doesn’t work try this”

Yeah, only issue is I can't replicate the noise when the truck's not moving. Only happens when its in gear/moving. I'd have to have the mechanic go for a ride with me or something.

rich people just get another car until theirs is ready... I vividly remember dropping off a brand new loaner Range Rover in chestnut hill for the Aerosmith bassist’s wife to take down to cape Cod while we replaced the dead battery in her Mercedes convertible.

I'm hoping that the cb drop will fix mine. I damn sure don't want to deal with the rear end.
    Must be nice

I should prob change the diff fluid before I do anything. It's due for it, I think and I can see if there's any bits in there. Last I checked Torque Pro, it wasn't throwing any codes so :notsure:
