Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the startup screen that displays the safety disclaimer message in the 2020 head unit? I figure it would be Techstream, or Carista, if it could be done. I don't own either program yet, but was thinking about getting Carista adapter for some other adjustments.

Sorry, but no. Carista has the exact same Customization functions as TS. There is nothing related to it.

Honestly, I am thankful that it goes away on its own. If I had to hit the button to clear it, I would have swapped the H/U by now.

There was someone that was trying to hack the H/U and center display a while back. Unfortunately, they didn't get anywhere. I wish someone would.

Yeah, one of the fleet cars I drive at work is a chevy malibu, and it's version of that screen NEVER goes away, until you are forced to acknowledge it. So I guess it could be worse. Just hoping there was a work around. I've been leaving my anytime forward facing camera switch on when I shut the truck off, so the image of the camera is displayed instead of the safety message when the I startup. Doesn't really solve anything, just makes me feel like i'm getting over on the nannyware somehow. Oh well.

That is another thankful thing, that the anytime camera mods override the message.

I am very anti-warning, esp after it is first read. There should be a check box to never see it again.

Of course, I did remove the visor stickers for the same reason. They were honestly distracting.

I did the same thing on my 08, but in my 2020, the warning lable on the flip-up mirror seems to be more like a painted stencil than a sticker, and I haven't had much luck getting it off. I'm not crazy about the glue spot left behind, but I'd rather have that than the sticker.

Yeah. My mirror one is not coming off. I rarely use the visors since dark tint sunglasses do the trick for me.

For the residue, it took me a few attempts. Both GooGone and GoofOff are just fine on the visor material. Also, a little steamer is great.

The big thing is just taking them out of the truck. So much easier.

A hint of residue can be seen if looking up at them, but zero is noticeable on a day to day basis.

This is the best pic that I have ATM and was from years ago:

Cool thanks for the tip. I've never used the GooOff/Gone products before, but been meaning to get some. Seems like a good thing to have in stock.

As for the mirror decal, I was thinking I can just put some other, less annoying sticker over it. Everything I buy these days seems to come with a sticker anyways, I'll just use one of those.

Yeah. A nice matte black vinyl would take care of that one. It is an option for the others also, but I wasn't sure if there would have been a reflected glare off the bottom side. I wasn't liking what I was seeing from folks that did it.

GoofOff is the better one to grab. GoodGone is not good on some stuff. Generally best to avoid it. Thankfully, it doesn't harm the visor fabric or foam though.

I just want to get rid of the "lane departure stops working at 32mph" message... I get it, you've told me 20 times a day for the past 2 years. There should be a milage expiration on some of these warnings. After 10k miles it stops showing them.

Lots of people make color matched vinyl now for the mirror sticker. The other decal will peel clean off with a little heat or a tiny bit of GooGone.

The "radar ready" screen that pops up over the entire center info block and hangs out for a while kinda bugs me. Its a good fact to know, just wish it was a smaller indictor, and not blanking out the whole center display every time.

Agree'd, if they could of just made a small message that slides down or something. Its more of a distraction to have things constantly popping up in the cluster than not knowing the radar isnt ready.

there was a post somewhere in here that had a black sticker thing with "TRD" on it that went over it and kind of customized the visors. I'm not in my truck today (weather too nice, riding the bike), so no photos, but I'll try to remember to take some when I get home to clarify.
