Any Okies in here?

Right now just Goats and Chickens. Wife wants horses and cows, but i dont need anything else to take care of, lol. She'll probably win in the end.

 

New member here in Norman ok. Been looking to take my truck out looking for trails, any recommendations? Thanks and look forward to talking to everyone.

 

Trails - everything seems like its east of you. Almost nothing south and west according to my googling

 

A few WMAs, some dirt roads. About all I've found online.

A few of the more easily found trails are the Oklahoma section of the Trans America Trail, the Oklahoma Adventure Trail, and the Green Country Oklahoma Adventure Tour (GOAT).
There's also lots of forest roads/trails in the East/Southeast and on into Western Arkansas.

There are also a few off road parks, like Crossbar and Disney, but those are more contained than point-to-point trails.

We really need to get a meet up going...

 

Thanks for the recommendations, was looking into going to crossbar this weekend or next just to see how the truck would do.

 

I haven't been there myself, but as I understand there's tracks for all levels. Just might want to be sure to use navigation as it seems one can lose their way easily.

I was glad to find that site. Does seem to be a little dated, but better listing than most anything else i have found.

 

I recall it from a while ago, but personally I'm more interested in un-curated trails on public land. That said, I'm not opposed to checking some of these out.

 

Mark Doiron has been posting videos of the Oklahoma section Trans America Trail.

 

Crossbar can be fun for sure. Prepare to buff some light scratches out when you are done. Usually take some of these with me when I go.

Did a little bit it the Adventure trail today from Lawton to Davis. Was really fun, from Lawton to marlow though it was nearly all paved backroads. After marlow you go on some dirt roads way in the middle of nowhere, even saw a bobcat strolling by but couldn’t get my phone out in time. One section had a gate closed but it was noted as closed during hunting season, not deer season yet so thought it would be open. Was still fun to go and get out.
