Rode down PCH to my favorite coffee shop to pick up some more beans. Boy was it windy out. But I didn’t get pulled over so that’s something

Posted this over in ADVRider yesterday in a thread about changing a tire on the road, someone asked if anyone had successfully set the bead using the lighter fluid/wd-40/other flammable aerosol trick, figured y'all might get a kick out of it here.

I tried it 3 or 4 years ago, and ended up accidentally having the can upside down and getting the liquid inside the tire, while trying to seat the bead, indoors, on carpet, in my tiny apartment......so it didn't flash off like the aerosol would, it just created liquid fire drops.... so many poor life decisions.

Luckily it just left a couple scorch marks on the linoleum and all the liquid burnt itself out pretty quick. Terrifying to say the least. Fully expected to come back inside and find my apartment in flames.

    Funny bike not starting story.

Many years ago I was working graveyard shift for a printing company and as often as possible rode my 1985 Yamaha FJ1100 to work. This was in late February or early March and it was still pretty damned cold out but I bundled up and rode anyway. Came out of work one morning just after 7:00 turn key on and...........nothing. Didn't even click. Coworker stroll over to offer help as we look things over trying to see what's up. He offers to push me so I can bump start it. We go out the driveway and I dump the clutch.....no luck. We push it back up a slight incline and try again. Same result. Push it back uphill again convinced this time it'll work. While he's pushing I notice that I must have bumped the kill switch with the heavy gloves I'm wearing and hadn't noticed before. As he pushes I flip the kill switch back to the run position and of course it fires right up.

Needless to say I didn't tell him for several weeks what the problem had been.

I’m riding the CBR600F4i when the weather is nice, and I’m starting to get used to the increase in power and weight versus the Ninja.

I took it to my favorite parking lot today to get more comfortable with lean exercises... looks I also scrubbed off some nasty, weathered rubber from the tires!

You should see what the tires look like after you get some heat in them at the track...

and no not as much heat as @spencermarkd lol

oh, I didnt even see this comment. Yea, I definitely like that too. But Id want to mount my phone somewhere. I kinda want to get a quadlock mount, but at the same time, Im using RAM in my truck, so I have some extra arms laying around. Id just need an X Grip and a base.

And Im also not happy with my saddlebag bracket. I need to find out if its steel, and then try to mod it/weld in a different bracket. The rear bolt goes right in front of where the rear fender bolt is, and it might even be slightly cross threaded. If the bracket is steel, and it doesnt sell on ebay within the next hour, I might cut it up and mod it.. If all else fails, then these might be my answer:

That's a sweet little trailer, same bike I have too. Way more storage than I'd ever need, but I wonder how much the trailer kit is. Panniers alone would be like $2k haha

fender eliminator and new rear LEDs come today. I got the Icon, and not the Icon Dark because it comes with LED signals. So I guess if I get different ones, I dont need to add any hyper flash relays. Install time should be about 20 min
