New to the site and the Taco scene - been an owner for almost a year. Love the community with this truck! So many cool builds and inspiration, excited to connect possibly with some fellow Sacramento Taco owners for some trail runs or just community!

From my recent trip out to Montana! Still bone stock as far as the important stuff goes but just got the Eibach kit it in, stoked for it! These trucks are so capable stock too! I feel like that gets lost sometimes - but upgrading it sounded like too much fun! Haha!

Has anyone here done the Pardoe/Squaw Ridge trail up off Hwy 88? I'm actually just looking to do some backpacking up there and want to know how rough that trail is to get started a little further out.

I did the trail last week. A few rough spots requiring 4 low, but everything else is enjoyable

Awesome, thanks! Just bought a new OR a few weeks ago and don't want to hurt it by not knowing what I'm getting into.

3rd time Taco owner, 1st time TW poster.

Generally new to the Sac area, looking for a few trails to cruise on. I’ve got a stock 3rd gen, trying to get the wife more into getting off pavement. Anyone have any recommendations for a day trip? I’m looking for a trail that’s got a view and/or a some water to put the feet in and relax while having a picnic. Something on the easier side is preferable. I know prairie city exists, but driving in circles around the park would likely bore her (and me after about an hour since it’s got pretty limited space).

Feel free to DM me some places to go.

Just kidding. Awesome bass though, going to try and get some fishing in this weekend, hopefully get away from all this smoke and get some fresh air

feeling the same as well. Bone stock and wouldn’t mind getting off the pavement for a bit on some easy trails. I hear there’s some decent ones towards Lake Tahoe, not exactly sure where though

I would go back to Bowman Lake off Hwy 20 in Nevada County. Easy but still enjoyable with great views, fishing and fun. Not sure how the smoke is right now because of the fires.

This one was on my list, along with another that’s not much further down the road. We’ll be waiting until the smoke clears.

Fordyce is not much further down the road but can be a beast. I have gone in my work F-150 and did “OK” (in other words I didn’t crush a fender or more importantly-rockers). I have been rejected several times as well.

Yes. Had to deliver equipment (emergency work) and made it through unscathed though the trip back down was pretty nerve wracking.
As I said, I tried numerous other times In other years and had to turn around after 1-2 miles. Not passable. Ended up having to airlift in the required gear. I haven’t been there now since about 2015 so no idea of the current status.

This is the same truck, not from the Fordyce trip! This is from a 30" Oak tree at 65 mph. The tree came out of it just fine!
