He shouldn't quit that day job. He knowingly sold a tune that had a random chance to cause a truck to go into limp mode, mine happened on a busy on ramp. All the other terrible customer service aside, that's not OK.

My favorite part was how everyone climbed up on crosses to make a big deal about blocking me.

I don't need 24/7. Just disclosure that his tune had a chance of bringing my truck to a sudden stop in traffic without warning. Well that and coming even remotely close to his December 2019 release date.

Sorry your truck died on an on ramp in a troublesome situation. I'm assuming since you're posting here that you didn't die, so glad that you're okay. Moving past that, let's not forget that you hacked into toyota's system and fucked with it, so issues like this are bound to pop up. Maybe try a different tune?

 

All shit posting aside, I wasn't mad that it happened. I was mad when I found out that it was a known problem only disclosed on this forum. Something like that needs to be communicated at the point of sale, not some random truck forum. If when I bought the tune it came with the warning and asked that I wait for a revision I'd either have gambled it or waited. But I'd have known the risks.

If he didn't tell customers about that, it gives the impression he'd hide other things as well.

 

Once again...you're hacking toyota's shit. You knew the risk. Deal with it. Get a new tune and move on dude.

 

Where was the risk disclosed that it could cause the truck to go into Brake Override Malfunction? My whole issuse is that I didn't know the risk.

I realize you're intentionally being obtuse, but no OTS tuner should ever hide the fact that they know there is a chance their tune could cause serious harm because they don't want to lose the sales on Black Friday for the current MY of truck.

 

Whatever happened to slapping on a new intake with a Holley Double Pumper, a set of headers and maybe fuck with timing a bit?
