I hit deer at 50 mph. I'm impressed with the minimal damage to the truck.

Yikes, where in VA are you?

Repairing plastic still gets expensive though.

I was under the impression that TSS was supposed to be able to detect pedestrians. Odd that it wouldn't work on a deer.

You did pretty good. There may me some damage behind the bumper that is being hidden. I hit a small deer with my 09 and it did more damage than what you have. I had to replace the bumper cover and both headlights.

Time for a toe dip of modding that will no doubt spiral out of control into a build thread thanks to Tacoma world .

It is a human-ish sized object that the truck is going to impact...

When you admit liability that’s a green light to your insurer to raise your rates for an at fault accident... If the deer hit you the insurer has no reason to believe otherwise. It’s not like the deer can rat you out.

A large owl dive-bombed my windshield the other night We both got lucky. He bounced off and I got some feather shaped dust-prints on my windshield.

Just depends what happened. If a deer was standing there, it probably would have. If it ran out in front of him too late, it probably wouldn't.

I've been rear ended before with a plastic rear bumper. Generally they appear pretty resilient because the dents can bounce back out. However, the impact absorbing material below is probably not so lucky.

Plot twist: Deer survived the initial impact then OP snuffed the deer to prevent it from testifying.
