    Is this the same scenario that you saw with Alcan?

    Yes Alcan and Dakars.
    I totally get why they do it, for max support of main leaf, it just causes serious interference

    Dobinsons is working on it. The 2nd leaf will be tapered in and more narrow so that it clears the shackle more

    Contact happens during articulating as leaf slides outboard, and binding can occur if 2nd leaf emerges from shackle and slides outboard, then jams into shackle rib.
    Yeah, for 112s that are out there, the way to eliminate interference is trim as minimally as possible. Best to just clear the shackle ribs so it can't happen. So we're talking 1 or 1.5", definitely not more than 2". And I suggest you check with Dobinsons

    I've conferred with a customer who has the 112s and Hammer hangers + Archive 3.6" shackles, this is his installed pic and the clean spot on shackles is how far leaf extends inside. (110s and 111s do not have this issue)
    Of course this is of interest to me because I offer Hammer hangers and don't want my customers to have interference due to springs, causing damage to my gear.

    @Crikeymike glad they took criticism and are resolving, nicely designed springs and I can keep recommending them

    Can the problem be fixed by keeping the spring long, like a military wrap?

    Thanks for the pic

    In that case it can still knock around and eventually cause metal on metal leaf on shackle scraping squeaks, and if you dont have long shocks/shock relocation and you don't offroad...it may not cause binding issues if leaf doesn't come out of shackles.
    Going off experience with other brands doing same thing

    So what exactly needs to be trimmed? I just received my heavy duty springs but haven't had a chance to put them on yet. Any pics of what on the leaf truly gets cut?

    @CBrob
    Here's pics of a stock 3/1 leaf pack, this is about all it can be without having shackle contact for Tacoma arrangement

    Dakars work, If you don't mind a little squeaking when it's wet outside.

    Deavers are the best. Dobinsons and ATS Springs are 2nd tier in comparison, Dakar and Iron Man are 3rd tier. This is just from my personal experience.

    @Crikeymike

    Ive got a few questions for you.
    UCA-- dirt king or SPC.. Are they similar in durability and ease of maintenance?
    Diff drop... are you a believer in this?

    for a total lift of 2.5" with the possibility of adding some bumper weight to a stock rig which spring/strut combo would you suggest?

    UCA's
    Dirt king you'd grease the ball joints and the bushings, really straight forward. Nice, strong design, no adjustment
    SPC, you'd grease the ball joints only. Seem to be a strong design with their most recent version of it with the cast arm, haven't heard of any issues, as long as everything the long bolt is only torqued on the ground with the weight of the truck on it. These of course have more camber and caster adjustment than the DK's, so that's a benefit if you're running bigger tires or more lift, but you won't be lifting much.

    Diff drops - yes if they're long travel shocks which can cause the CV's to bind at full extension. Plus it minimizes (a little) the CV boot rub with a higher lift. For 2.5" on a Taco, I don't think it's needed though, it's not worth sacrificing 1" of ground clearance unless your skid plates are made to fit a diff drop (my 4runner RCI skids have that), so there's no lost ground clearance on those anyway.

    The suggestion would depend on what bumper, actually the total weight. Some are so light, some are beasts, and that will affect what coils I'd suggest.

    I got to park next to a stock truck, I have the 314s and 110 leaf pack, plus 33” skinny tires, can really see the difference 328BE690-5347-4FF6-B63D-7D2F307092B5.jpg
