I had the same issue with the noise that sounds like the PWR Steering. I replaced the AC Pulley and the sound was still there. Then I went deeper and found the AC Unit making the sound. The AC unit was not functioning as it should and Freon was leaking from somewhere causing damage to the bearings in the unit. Replaced the AC unit and all is Cool! Noise gone. If you can't get another AC unit yet cut the belt off if you can.

Oh my bad, totally spaced on updating everyone. ‍♀️ So I have a licensed mobile mechanic coming out to do full inspection on my truck. Hoping it won't be to costly to repair whats needed.

While normally that could be a possible issue with my truck... i unfortunately and currently don't have any freon for my ac, as the first family friend whom worked on my truck, let it all out.

Though at least with all this down time my trucks had, so to speak, has given me the opportunity to finally do some things that I've wanted to do for quite awhile...

and the other noise is the power steering pump, with air still in system. So gonna try and bleed out the air again, if that doesn't work then will maybe try a air bleeder vacuum kit.

oh also showed him the considerable play in my steering wheel, while he was there... first thing he asked after looking at it was, "Someone didn't mess with the steering rack, did they?"
I'm like, "I don't believe so. God I hope not."
I think its probably the rack bushings or something. Tuckker (my truck) has taken quite a beating in my off road excursions, in last few years. Plus I live on a rough dirt road as well.

I had Mechanics tell me 'Power Steering' and it finally came down to the AC compressor clutch bearing. If the Air Conditioning has not been running the way it should has a leak etc. it will damage the units bearings. It sounds just like the Power Steering unit is going bad but it isn't. Then again if the belts were replaced it could be the pulley for the AC unit.

I wanna know too. These trucks are the best when in tune. When something goes a miss we all go nuts!

You should look at the Carvana thread in the 3rd Gen section. It might be time to say good bye to Tuckker.

Oh def keeping. If this pans out to be just that, then the truck should have plenty of miles left on it until it finally does kick it. I mean the were alot of parts that have been replaced, so maybe shit just needs to get tuned in?
Oh! But I was however, able to get my ps pump significantly quieter!! My mom's husband had guaranteed me that the pump was bled of air, did the whole wheel turning back and forth, blah blah blah... though from what I can recall, it was only done with the ignition on and 4 tires on the ground. So I suggested that we do it (again)... only this time, I want it done with the truck jacked up, 2 tires off the ground, turning wheel back and forth, first with ignition off and again with ignition on. Had results almost immediately! Must have been a huge air bubble, cuz fluid went everywhere Lol. So topped it off and did it again. Now the pump still has its moments of being a bit noisey, but not at all nearly as much. Yay!!
