I know for myself since the scoop was purely cosmetic i wasn't willing to fork over 1400$ for an aftermarket one when that money could be spent on other functional mods like a bumper etc. However a trade with some cash upfront is easier stomach.

One suggestion i'd give to other people tho is check on FB Marketplace, Craigslist etc for people who are selling Sports/Pro model trucks independently. I would always message them and see if they'd take a trade + cash since they want to sell the truck anyways. Plus keep a posting on those same sites advertising your trade - thats how i found my trade. Someone who was already going to trade his truck to the dealer so figured hed make some cash on top....

 

Going about it that way, how much cash did you have to offer to get someone to bite?

 

i ended up adding $700 which relative to this thread is probably a bit higher than most. But it was still cheaper than me buying aftermarket.

Also, with my truck being 1.5 years old and there seeming to be an influx of new cement tacos it felt like i needed to up my end of the offer since there were probably more "brand brand new" hoods searching.

 

@BookieBob here's how to get rid of the scoop if you want then you'll be able to see over the hood when doing steep climbs.. maybe

 

I’ll keep it. It makes it more challenging. It’s also fun to look at the passenger and say “I can’t see the spotter! Can you?” That was the best part of the boulder climb. No idea where James was located I just heard his voice and rolled till he said stop.

Im buying the front camera to do the anytime camera mod! I love my scoop.

I’ve heard so much crap in a sport can’t off road .. That may be true but I drove up Instagram hill forward and in reverse still never saw James besides his fingertips

my truck is a 2019 and has been babied so hood has already been clay barred twice and waxed 4 times in the year. Always use Meguires caranuba soap and spray wax every wash (about every two weeks)

looking for a scoop hood in this kind of shape.

Has anyone fit a hood in their shortbed with a topper? I did rough measurements but seems pretty close.

 

I was wondering the same thing..

 

My hood and parts come in today and I have to take it a short distance to the painter, going to be embarrassing AF if i show up and I cant get it in right. If i can get a good deal from the painters, i can get a complete oem hood for $1k, the collision center is slow right now so they seemed open to negotiating.

I even went as far as plotting a road trip, but Seattle-Chicago was too much. Can't believe he still has this.

I'm here! I'm subscribed in case a Cement scooped hood pops up within reasonable distance, but I'm not in a rush and honestly not sure if I want it enough to pay what people seem to be posting on here. I do miss it though after switching from a 2019 Sport to a 2020 Off-Road. Maybe I should have pushed to swap the hoods when I did my trade-in...

Black with silver would probably look good IMHO. That said, if it’s a straight exchange you both could probably find shops that could paint them for a few hundred.
