I have a very similar setup with a 13kw portable Generac Jerry. In addition to all the prep maintenance I also keep mine on a tender to keep the battery ready. I typically pull it out and let it run for a half an hour or so once a year. I'd love to have a larger whole house with an automatic switch running off propane.

33 years for us next moth and I would do it all again a million times.

 

Mine is a 7,000 Generac. I need to find the battery charger so I don't need to pull start it. Even though it is really easy to pull start. This time, after running it, I drained the carb bowl. So, hopefully next time it will fire right up.

 

I wonder if a Harley Davidson Battery Tender would work? It has terminal clamps, along with the OEM connector connection. I was going to try to sell it will all my H-D stuff, but........let me know if you don't find yours.

 

It probably would work. I am interested because I don't have much hope that I'll find the charger that came with the generator.

It’s wonderfully quiet. Part of why I opted for this style is if we get a small travel trailer for family camping in the future.

We're just "dead heading" with my Brother-in-Law next month with their pull behind camper (sleeps 8, fridge, etc.)...I am following my I have a boat/access to a boat, it's in my back yard and I don't own/pay taxes on it!

I am already reading between the lines in my BiL's comments about their first 4 trips with their 14 month old that he's gonna try and pawn off their current setup for his next, larger RV purchase!!
