Ok guys need some experienced advice if anyone has any experience with rentals.

I’ve decided to put my tractor and jet skis up for rental. Tractor has taken off like crazy and I have jobs lined up every time I turn around at the moment. Apparently 35/hour is extremely cheap for tractor work as people wanting it done ASAP. Tractor rental has another benefit where I rent it out for 165 a day without an operator. I drop it off to them and pick up same time following day. Deposit required and fuel charge required if over 10 miles from me. This allows me to make 165 per day for 8 meter hours of use while I’m at work Monday through Friday making money. Tractor is fully insured and they sign a waiver of liability and an agreement on cost of repairs due to neglect. Other precautions also taken too long to list.

The curiosity in me has me worried about the jet ski rental part though for liability in the event they could hurt someone else.

Anyone have any experienced advice on things to consider and look out for before renting jet skis? Thanks

People are going to dog your rental jet skiis. Tractors are one thing, but you can thrash a jet ski letting strangers ride it wide open everywhere they go. We had jet skiis growing up and parts are expensive and real tight spaces to work in.

Not sure of the size of your tractor but I just rented one last week that had a front-end loader and box blade for $197 a day or $127 for half a day so your tractor is a good deal.

I'd be interested in the tractor to maintain food plots. Where you located?

It’s a mahindra 1626. It can’t be used as a hay tractor unless ya wanna do square bales or much smaller hay rolls but it’s more than enough for a home owner. Has loader on front. Have box blade, tiller, bush hog, and pallet forks that suits my needs and then some. Most I’ve seen from tractor rental is no pto usage. Mine you can use anything I have.

Running it wide open won’t hurt it. I run it as hard as I can when I’m on it. Only thing worries me is injury liability and damage to the hull from running them too far up the shore. Someone runs it too far up shore they’ll only do it one time. People are lazy and these things are not light. When I run ours onto shore for docking purposes and get them too far it takes me and my wife’s strength to get them back in water. But as long as it’s not rocks no harm done.

I've sucked some tow rope up into my impeller a few times and it's a real bitch to get out. Yeah, that and running it into too shallow of water as well.

Tractor price seems lower than I've seen before.

As for ski rental - I jokingly offered to rent for the time were here in gulf shores. Albeit the way I treat a rental will differ from others but I also agreed with you back then on never seeing salt water is a huge plus. Insurance required for the ski plus bodily damage & property damage would probably never be worthwhile for what you could make as a rental.

You could rent them as a X price for the day with them signing 100% liability agreement (25-50k value). Or additional insurance coverage for say an added $75-100 per day rental. That way you could cover your actual premium.

    Tough call..
