I took the truck in for an oil change Saturday, last of the freebies. On the dash the lane departure lites up but the PCS doesn't. I had the recall for it taken care of. I ask the service writer about it. When I pick up the truck he told me both were turned on. Well, neither lights up. Tried turning them on thru the dash, both show they are on. The lane departure is definitely not on; not courageous enough to test the PCS. I them set everything to default and still nothing. Is there anything I am missing? I don't want to get into an accident and have a lawyer having a field day with my assets since the sensors were off.

Ive only seen the PCS light up when it errors out. Where does it light up when its on?

How did you test the lane departure? Mine is never consistent. Sometimes it sees the lane, sometimes it doesn't. (Same stretch of road.)

Sometimes these sensors need a few miles under them before they suddenly start working again.

Edit: best way to test the PCS is to run cruise control and see if it matches speed with the car in front. They use the same sensor system.

This is Exactly why you don’t want self driving cars & trucks & rely on sensors to do everything.if you just learn to Drive the right way you don’t crap like they come up with.

It works with cruise control on. I cross the same damn white line when getting off of the freeway to work. 4 days, no beeping; still crossing over that line. I drive just fine, I've only been in one accident in my 46 years of driving; LA freeway came to a stop, guy behind me didn't. Hit me at 60 mph.

So radar works. Have you tried cleaning your windshield around the camera area?

No. Truck has been washed since the oil change. Can't hurt to clean it again

I'd just check the area around and above the rear view, make sure the glass isn't smudged or something. After that I'm not sure how to diagnose further. Maybe pull up the lane screen on the dashboard and watch if it sees any lines during your commute. If no, then it might be time for the dealer to take a look at that camera.

Is your turn signal on when crossing that line?
