Any safe spots you can think of to drill a hole for a sensor? Or just continue the hope and prayer. Only reason it's of concern to me is that all my sticks feel like they are getting hotter these days post crawl box install and I have no idea what oil temps are inside anything.

What are you going to do if you see that it's hotter than is comfortable for you?

Pull a sample and send it off to Blackstone if you're really worried about heat and then use their results to decide how more frequently you want to change your fluids.

I just swapped out the cheap valvoline stuff for redline MT-90 to be safe. I will be putting that in the tcase and a crawler the next time they get drained.

You should be looking at their other options in the GL5 rating spectrum.

Just their GL5 75-90wt. The GL4 doesn't play well with the Toyota Syncros for some reason.

Put a tattle tale temp strip on the case.

My R150 has run as warm as 220 per my temp strip.

In Colorado BS news, my 9 year old son was the victim of a hit and run. He was out riding his bike and is thankfully ok absent some injuries. Spent 3 days looking for the person, caught a break, and I found them. Just got word today that a warrant has been issued for the individual. All that to say, drive safe, hug your kids, cause getting a call from my ex that my son had been hit by a car was the worst.

Would the be reliable considering residual heat from exhaust? I have a digital that i have shot at the bottom of the trans and tcases but the external surface temps are reading 400+ on the tranny and 300+ on the cases. If the oil were really getting that hot inside I'd be having catastrophic failures by now.
