I have been greasing my total chaos uca bushings about twice a year for a few years since I got them. Usually I loosen the long bolt, pump in grease through the zerks and it comes out on the outside of the bushings, wipe it off, re torque.

Well this time I can't get it to go through some of the bushings. With the long bolt very loose they just push out and take up the slack, but no grease. How do I fix this?

In the first pic it's normal, the old grease is pushing out. In the second the bushings are just moving, grease trapped inside.

Just spray it on, and as best I can in, the bushings?

yes, it actually is a very good lube for all articulating front end parts, its friendly for use on all rubber parts and will actually protect them and keep them from drying out and doesn't attract dirt

    It’s not rubber, it’s polyurethane.

OP, hate to say this but...remove the UCA’s and then disassemble them and clean them, the bushings and the sleeve and check for damage. If none, clean up and reassemble with ample grease and try again after about 5k miles.

You can buy replacement bushings from TC and make your UCA like new again. :D

I thought silicon wasn't the best for polyurethane. I can try triflow spray. I don't have the capability to take off the uca, so I'd prefer to not have to do that.

A new zerk fitting is like .29 cents..try that. Of course most stores and dealerships will sell you a $85 kit..lol

yes silicon is good for rubber, Tri flow is a Teflon spray, ive read here that a lot of peeps use it on their POLY URETHANE front ent parts I would research some more on what would be ideal to use on your set up

I would make sure that your zerk fittings aren't clogged up. Yeah, it's unlikely that they all clogged at the same time, but it's easy to check and eliminates one thing. Besides, it would be better to find plugged fittings before you remove the UCA's.

Since the bushings move out when pumping I think the grease is entering them, so I think the zerk is ok

So, you think the grease is going in and moving the bushings? If so, where is all of that grease going??

Since the long bolt is loose there is nothing clamping the bushing down. I'd imagine the grease in somewhere between the zerk and the bushings. If I tighten everything back down I can get grease to come out of the hat/washer by the bolt and back out of the zerk if I depress the bearing /valve whatever you call it with a screwdriver

looks like grease supplied by the bushing maker is best, also a tri flow type Teflon spray is #2
