I say neither get a off road . Sport has the annoying hood scoop u can’t see ahead . The suspension is crap . The pro is great but way overpriced . Just to get fox suspension and leather . Plus u will lose head room with the sun roof .you can get the off road with tech package .

I surely luv the look of the scoop, but it definitely creates a blind spot sadly.

So does lifting your Tacoma. Better not lift it if you can't navigate worth a schit.

Seriously, the scoop has not been an issue. Never even given it a thought.

So does being shorter, better not be under 5”11 those 2 extra inches can create a serious blind spot especially without an adjustable seat height. :anonymous:

Thats great if u actually posted pictures from the actual driver seat not sitting on the windshield .. I test drove the sport yes the hood scoop compared to the one without it does block your view .

So the OP is looking at the Sport or Pro and says he has little to no intention of off roading. TW recommends the Off Road, in part, because the hood scoop blocks too much view.......off roading.

    TW logic.

Somehow when new members ask for help people on here find a way to make it about themselves and their own needs.

“Get bigger tires stocks are weak, get the off-road you can’t see with the scoop, don’t get a pro it’s a waste of money use that money for kings” etc.

Surprisingly not everyone wants nor needs all that.

TW refuses to believe it is not the shining beacon of all Tacoma drivers and extreme Moab rock crawling is the only use for a tacoma.

I'd love to see the user activity statistics. I be it doesn't count for 10% of all Tacoma owners.

    Pest exterminator fleets notwithstanding.

There's a thread in TW somewhere where they added up all the $ of the extra options you get with the PRO and you cant build a PRO cheaper than buying one .

No hate here. Just laughing at the predictable “get the Off Road” posts every time someone asks about two different models. Even when OP pointedly says he’s not off roading and comments a second time saying the Off Road features on the Pro aren’t worth it to him.

I’d kinda like to see what would happen if OP went straight up heretical and shunned the MT and bought a Limited.

Keep in mind, the hwy picture was taken with a full load so the hood was up high:

As for the off road pic there was no spotter and it was taken from the driver seat. The truck was also loaded with about 400lbs which included a hand winch, chains and a quartered bull elk. You guys ever pack a bull elk out? A few more shots:

    Where's the spotter?

After reading this thread I feel like shit because I bought a TRD Sport because it was the only configuration that I could get with an AC MT. Should have gotten an OR in a configuration that I didn't want apparently.

OP, sounds like the Sport is your jam. The rear locker of the OR is the main advantage if you do serious off-roading or maybe finding yourself in a really tough spot. The Sport feels smoother and more "normal" on everyday roads, but a bit "wonky" on fast and bumpy off-roading conditions IMO.

BTW, your Subaru will out perform a Taco on ice/slippery surfaces. I (own) owned 4 Subies = incredible in that respect (;-)
