I dunno, kinda into the fuzzy antlers myself.

I need some land. Id give him a couple more years until he puts on more mass, more body weight, gets that toad belly going on.....impossible to do around here on all public land where people shoot anything legal.

I know guys that lose their shit over a buck that age.
Im like, yeah hes awesome, definately a 1st tag buck for me this season, but theres bigger bro...way bigger.

Our blacktails rarely reach even that age much less achieve true toad status, but they do.
I see em almost every season

I agree on the size thing, we try to get our deer to 5-6 years of age. The problem we have is all of the outfitters, their hunters shoot the first fucking 2-3 year olds and think they killed a monster. We’ve passed several 140-150 even pushing 160 only to see the deer on some outfitters website. Most of the areas that we own or lease are heavily outfitted.

Yeah like outfitted right into backstraps, burgers and jerky!

    But I know ryte.
I quit telling even my brothers (2) that I hunt with what Im seeing or where Im hunting.

I sold a tree stand to a guy a couple seasons ago. He has some land right here local. We were sharing vids from our cams and he has some monsters and several up and comers and many young bucks. He doesnt let ANYONE hunt his property except himself and his young sons.
Truly shows what can be done with good management and a little restraint.

Im all for shooting what you want. No problems there. Just save the dinks for the kids and wives and 1st timers....and growling stomachs haha

I smoked the 1st two decent bucks that stood still a couple few seasons ago just because I love doing it with my bow. I love blood trails, so does my dog.
Anyone can flip the safety and pull the trigger with a rifle.
Alto...Im getting closer to being that guy again this year if I keep passing.
Thats fine, the ol bdl doesnt see much action usually. Always nice to break it out of the safe too ;)
